David Towe should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Heritage Touring Cars at Lakeside 2013

Heritage Touring Cars (Group A/C Touring Cars) are off to Lakeside next, July 20th and 21st. There are approx. 35 entries so far and this should be enough to split the grids again. I hope they split the grids into under and over 2000cc rather than Group A and Group C. If you are in the area drop by and say hello.

Saw you at Morgan Park last time out David but didn't get a chance to say hello. Try and catch you this time.

I'm hoping they have a regularity at the meeting so I can have a run in the Sierra.

No problem TCR, I had a very busy weekend with a few problems and limited crew numbers that weekend.
Cheers
David

They probably won't have time on the programme for regularity. It's going to be a bumper meeting.

Improved Production Touring Cars are confirmed, as is Aussie Trans-Am, backed up by 8 kiwis and at least one full grid of Group N Historic Touring Cars. I believe HQs & Geminis might also be running.

With possibly 35 of us that is a top notch programme.

Does Lakeside still try and charge photographers for access? Checking to see if there are any cheap flights for that weekend as I haven't done Lakeside yet....

You haven't done Lakeside yet!!!! A great little track, though been a few nasty crashes there over the last few months.

I spent nearly ever second weekend at Lakeside in the 1990's watching all sort of motor racing (hey! I even won a bicycle race there once)! Was glad to see it reopen.

Lakeside closed for major meets before I started travelling around doing the circus. I'm still yet to do Hidden Valley or Townsville either.

Not a bad mix although I was hoping to see a Falcon or two. I guess with 25 cars it will be a combined A and C grid?

Yeah, it will probably be a combined grid. I think we would need about 30 to get split grids.

I prefer the combined grids anyway, just the way it use to be

It still astounds me that there are so few Sierras running considering their domination of the series when it ran. I know they aren't cheap to run but I would've thought there'd still be a few more running.

I know there are at least 16 of them in the country, but 6 of those are in collections or museums and aren't likely to be raced again soon, 2 are for sale, 3 are long drawn out restorations, and one has been mothballed, which only leaves 4 currently on the Group A&C "circuit". I believe DJR#6 will be raced again sometime in the near future.

I see David Wall has entered the ex-‘Pete’ Geoghegan 1967 Mustang to race against the other near 50 Group N cars that have entered. Should be good!
