Edwards Speaks Out
I had a chance to speak to Ben Edwards at the weekend
(ITV commentator 25times better than James Allen) I asked him if he could mention in any motoring programme about marshals falling numbers. I explained that at this meeting we had 120 incident marshals sign on against the 22 for the Club meeting at Snet. 'There are not enough to go around' He said ITV were going to make a programme to promote marshalling and were going to tie up with someone to film a training day and how easy it would be to become a marshal. So There !! |

Nice work Ian. If you get the chance maybe you could ask him to mention the marshals website as that should cover circuits nationally www.marshals.co.uk

Ian Lewis/MarshalGirl's car maybe famous after next weekend because if the cameraman has used a wide angle shot the parked car seen in the resumé at the end of the show is theirs.

Talking of www.marshals.co.uk does anyone know when or if this site is ever going to be updated?

And as a footnote to this thread. Next year I plan to concentrate on my Photography at BTCC events in preference to being a Marshal. But I am going to dedicate some time and effort to giving Marshals more exposure (excuse the pun). Andrew Jackson www.aj-photo.co.uk already features a 'Marshal of the Event' on his site. Personally I will go for a 'Post of the Event' at BTCC meetings mext year.
I will continue to Marshal at 750, BARC & BRSCC club meetings though. |
