Indeed, it gets pretty cold at night, compared to the daytime so a pullover is a must. Last year it got so cold, I woke up with cramp in my legs. This year I'm taking more whisky.

usually i have enough alcoho; in my system by them to ensure nothing freezes, but yes if there are no clouds to keep the heat in it can get quite cold. But it can get very warm and often just to hot at night to sleep

I'd agree, I didn't really notice the crowd last year being smaller at all than in 2019 and earlier.

We've had some horrendously cold nights over the years. I seem to recall that both 2008 and 2011 were bitterly cold. These days, when sitting in the early hours of the morning at Indianapolis I'll be wearing t-shirt, jumper, bodywarmer and anorak. If it looks as though it will be really cold I have thermal longjohns and extra thick socks in the boot of the car too! I can't remember the last time I felt hot during the night at Le Mans.

The big thing I didn't realise too when you're up overnight is that it takes your body a long time to warm up again fully in the morning. Even if the sun comes right back out it takes a while.

As others have said: Layers recommended.

2017 was hot. I can remember waking up early in my tent each morning and each second the sun was up was unbearable.

For the newbies or those who forgot, what kind of mobile phone network do you use in France? Coming from England? From the US? Any recommendation?

Personally I have roaming in Europe with my provider but as usual, I'd advise anyone with concerns, to buy a local sim and use that.

Yep I see. Could not find anything I'd use myself. Maybe Orange Mobicarte at 14,99 € or SFR La Carte at 9,99€. The best is to check with your provider before leaving as Peter says.

I wonder how people coming from the US will manage. ATL for instance?

I know at.lne time the USA had a different system to Europe. Not sure that is the case these days since I've been able to roam in US regions.
