Yes, when paired with Maldonado, he wasn’t as quick as Pastor, but was more likely to make the finish out of those two

I don't recall people thinking at the time Barrichello was a potential WDC. I think he was a pretty decent driver but never was all that consistent across a season. What I have to give him credit for was maintaining a F1 drive for nearly two decades, not many can pull that off.

The reason he was in F1 for so long was not just because he was a very good driver, if not a great one, but because he is very passionate about racing. Just what we need in the sport

Some damning with faint praise going on I think , You are an extremely gifted racing driver if you race in 140 Grands Prix , winning 13 , getting pole in 9 and racing for six different teams . The fact that there is a tiny echelon of even better ones - the Rindts , Clarks , Sennas et al- - shouldn't relegate RB to 'also ran ' status ..there are hundreds of F 1 drivers over the decades who'd give a kidney for Barrichello's results - possibly even one of their own ..
