Movement behind the scenes @ 888 with former McLaren & Williams technical director Sam Michael joining seemingly at the expense of Ludo Lacroix who has been there since day one and was Roland's right hand man in the early 888 days. http://www.supercars.com/news/champi...e-engineering/

Huge loss, especially with the new Holden deal and new car.

Hope Dutto and Co can fill the void

Ludo gone where?

What the?

Where to for Ludo? Sam Michael has big shoes to fill and history shows he won't fill them.

I can't believe 888 are letting Ludo go and if he's being pushed then that's their loss.

The conspiracy theorist in me wonders...

...that the recent loss of Mr Jamieson (sourcer of obscene amounts of commercial funding for many many years from many many places) from 888...

...and the loss of Mr Lacroix (technical genius of HOW many championship winning cars?) from 888...

...has you wondering.. if... they might be showing up somewhere together...

...doing their respective roles with exemplary success... for themselves... or perhaps someone else...

Be funny if the pair of them show up at Walkinshaws

Could this be the precursor to the big announcement that was talked about at Bathurst by a certain qld based team? It will definitely be a big coup for anyone getting ludo to sign up when the future vehicles are so unclear.

Where did Mr Jamieson go? That will be quite a loss, along with Ludo

The term "ex-F1" probably sells quite well when sponsor hunting.

At first I thought Bet there is an English bloke in Clayton having a chortle. But then got to thinking all the Holden teams must be wondering what the future 888/GM product will be like? Could have Massive implications for the Championship bearing in mind the technical control 888 has.....Walkinshaw must be spewing I cannot belive GM knew Ludo was on the way out. ROGER Penske - Big league....

What is your definition of success?

The period with Jordan and Williams between 1998 - 2003 in which he engineered 10 + wins probably spells success?

He gained practical knowledge of race-car preparation by working on Mark Larkham's Formula Holden team while studying engineering at university in 1992-93. His talents were spotted by team boss Greg Siddle, who used his F1 contacts to get Michael, then just 22, a job with Team Lotus.
The West Australian has been in F1 for 16 years, initially with Lotus, then Jordan where his talents started to impress. In 2001, Michael was headhunted by Williams, to work alongside the celebrated technical director Patrick Head.

As to be expected.

To me, it looks a whole lot better than tearing up or paying out a contract and leaving them in the wilderness.
