Anyone going to Oran Park?
Is anyone going out to Oran Park this weekend to watch the fastest taxis in the land?

Yep.
Live only half an hour or so away. Oran Park is my 2nd favourite circuit after Mt Panorama of course. |

Buckshot - Come by the Pepsi pit & ask for Warren, it is always good to put a face to a name. If you are around on Friday at 2pm, we are unveiling the new paint scheme and the updates to the car (the updates will make the car go faster than just a new coat of paint )

I normally don't go into the pits at OP. But if I do I'll look you up.
Good luck for the weekend too. |

Judging by the forii on the net, there are more people not going than making the effort to get out of bed on Sunday.
Can I sense a record crowd coming on?? |

I think Oran Park is a fine Motor Sport Facility. In fact if more Motor Racing Tracks were of this standard than Australian motor Racing will be in very good shape indeed.

I don't mind OP to be honest with ya'll- great spectating, and super track. Sure, the conrete walls are cracking up and caving in at some place, but that's life isn't it. I've mentioned my dislike for their food- but what can you do about that?
I remember the last time we were down there, we stayed in the back of a truck with the race car. When we went and had our first shower on Thursday night, it was of course as cold as buggery. "Stupid bloody Oran Park piece of ****, blahdy blah..." ... "Ahhh mate- you've gotta turn the hot water system on to get hot water..." Grrrr.... But come the weekend, you'd have to have a shower at about 2:30pm to have a hope of getting some lukewarm water |

Be just like the real thing as well, no passing as it's pretty much one lane each way. |

With the demise of Canberra, it would be nice if AVESCO turned their attention (look a flying pig) into working with track owners to find ways to upgrade our permanent circuits before they go the same way as Lakeside. If the facilities continue to be so poor then it is only logical that fans will be turned off going thus less money to upgrade and so the vicious cycle continues

Good luck PEPSI, and on the Oran park subject, I went to the last Protour there and was suprised at the lack of trees anywhere around the circuit to provide some shade. Its been there at least for the last 20 years, one would think when planning it they would have planted 30 or 40 gum trees or something.......................
