Thoroughly enjoyed today. I was flagging on post 17. A full hour for lunch and a resonable finish 18:15 and some lovely cars. I laughed at the Ford Galaxies going sideways around Copice . Steve I spoke to you in the paddock it was nice to put another face to a Ten Tenther.

What a brilliant two days.
I renewed lots of old acquaintances and made some new friends in Andy, Neil and Nick. Andy and Neil ran a very slick assembly area. And I was awestruck at the way Nick organised the paddock single handedly. Well done guys! The weather confused me no end. Every time the sun came out I took off my waterproof jacket only to put it back on again 10 minutes later! |

I agree with you Sheila about the slickness of the assembly marshals, memories of the '' racing ahead'' days. As one finishes the next is ready to roll. I only did today, but thoroughly enjoyed it. Very quiet at the Old Hairpin, only 1 snatch and half a dozen spinners. And a good grid of Masters F1 cars. Looking forward to GP Live, doing all 3 days.

Another good day of historic racing, and a big thank you to who ever supplied the books given out at signing on, be it BARC or HGPCA drivers.
Thank you. |

Enjoyed the second day even more. It is the shame the weather killed off the last 2 races before lunch but it was more than made up with in the afternoon. Like ChrisA I am looking forward to GP live, just doing the Sat and Sun

That shower on the last lap of the last race certainly livened things up somewhat - as delta24 was calling the leader on his last lap I was stood at Redgate watching the leader driving through the gravel followed by what seemed like most of the field.
Does anyone know if the drivers had been instructed to stay in their cars if they stopped out on the circuit? The ones who stopped around us seemed very reluctant to get out, especially the F1 driver who stopped between the gravel and the track in the braking area for Redgate, if I was him I would of been out there sharpish, but he just sat there with his hand up as if asking to be excused!! |

Can I just say thank you to BARC for the book issued at sign on. I've just had a chance to have a look at it and it's really interesting with some great photographs. I for one greatly appreciate it.

A great two days - and I managed to work on 3 posts! (Got moved after 1st session on Sunday).
Heart in mouth when good friend Richard Dodkins spun his McLaren (No 15) just before the start of the Sportscar Masters race (me on 39) - don't think I've ever waved a yellow like that before! All those BIG cars coming through the chicane and ready to gun it for the start - with Dodkins broadside in the way.......! Thank goodness they all missed him. Excitement not over in that race because Chris Chiles Jr (No 19) decided to visit his friend Bill via the back door at the cage. Recticels did their job and we were most surprised not only that he re-appeared but that he continued to race to the end!!!! Damage to car was quite minor considering the speed. |
