Think it's a little harsh to say Josef went with the wrong team. Really he lost the title due to the odd rookie mistake (Oulton R1 start, hitting McKenna and Findlay at Silverstone) and bad luck (being hit by Barker at Silverstone).

Also think Hill did a better job than you think. He had a stronger first season in the series (and his first in single-seaters remember) than Cole did in 2008, and look what James did this year! Hill's improvement suggests he could be a real force next season.
totally agree...

Hill vs Malvern vs Butcher vs Cammish vs ???

2010 should be great!

Formula Ford should be supported by all true openwheeler fans because it's the only contemporary category not cursed by wings or other aerodynamic aids.

If the fools who winge about the lack of overtaking with the current generation of F1 cars could only take off their blinkers, they'd see the answer at almost any club race meeting!

For mine, Daniel Erickson was this year's standout driver in British Formula Ford.

In the British Championship he was the highest placed (5th) driver who'd never raced before on any of the circuits. He won one race, scored several podiums, set three pole positions and one fastest race lap, all with a second-string team that lucked into being the only one using the first-rate Australian Spectrum chassis.

He had a shoe-string budget that restricted his test days to a fraction of the number of some of his competitors'.

His ability to score respectable results after qualifying or race setbacks - never more so than at the Festival, when he set the fastest lap in the second semi-final - was extraordinary.

Daniel's awesome car control is evident in the videos of this season's championship.

I can't wait to see him strut his stuff next year in a higher category.

Aussie! Aussie! Aussie! Oi! Oi! Oi!

Chrissy was good.
Jo went with the wrong team.
Mygale the car to have.
Findlay wasn't the best.
KMR worked as hard as usual.
Hill disappointing.
James and his gang still the best team.

2011 regulations as I understand it, could mean 2010 as being the last good year.

KMR is hardly a second string team that lucked into using Spectrum. I think you will probably find that spectrum, along with any other FF manufacturer would love to have KMR running their chassis. They finished 2nd to Jamun in 2007 with the Van Dieman chassis, after developing all season from the far from best chassis it was out of the box. They have also done a stand up job with the Spectrum chassis, taking it to the front of UKFF.

Shoestring?? Didn't Dan do 25-30days testing. I would hardly call it shoe string. And didn't Scott Pye out-qualify him in identical kit at Brands, it being his first ever time in UKFF?

No disrespect to Dan, he came on strong in the second half of the season, and performed extremely well. He proved he is a quick driver capable of winning. But your post seems to suggest he was performing miracles in a sub-standard team which is simply not the case.

What a load of complete rubbish Bill. We all know Dan Erickson completed 6 days testing in a UK soec car in Austrailia before he came over to the UK in Feb. He then completed 30 test days for KMR which was 3 test before each round and more. If you add that together Dan Erickson did more testing than anyone on the grid including all 3/4 Jamun boys.

Also not sure you can claim the best rookie title as sure Erickson was blown away by a Mr Newgarden........

I agree, but I'm not sure this is Bill posting. Didn't he post under his own name at the beginning of the season? Not sure.
