50% discounts already? Strewth. They must be on an attendance drive. I take it exhibitor numbers are down and they want to woo us back with footfall!

Excellent accommodation with plenty of space for trailers etc and only 5 minutes down the road. Space still available for Friday and Saturday nights:-

So, it's today!

Looks like dry but cold-ish for the inevitable walks between buildings, touch wood remaining so for the live action over Saturday and Sunday, but nothing new there. I'm waiting for my lift, and hopefully may bump into some other tenthers there. On the other per hand, may not, as it one of those sort of shows.....

Alas we will miss each other as I'm elsewhere this weekend for the first time in years. Say hello to anyone that deserves it, yah boo sucks to anyone else.

Oh and please spend hours on the Demon Tweeks stand tying up their staff so they can't sell anything

Hey Max, the show was very disappointing this year! Saw some biscuits but all looked as if straight out of a packet- not home made like yours!

DT stand very small, couldn't see anything I wanted- all the offer stuff seems to be online at the moment.....

Managed to catch up with a few tenthers, say brief Hi to others, and wave in the distance to even more! Difficult to move even a few yards without bumping into someone haven't seen since last season or before. Friday at RR is a great day for socialising.

Few of the rally cars had arrived when I looked in the outer darkness, but of those there fell for the Nissan Micra Maxi kit-car. Now that's how every Micra should look......

Glad I didn't pay full price for a ticket. As a show it just isn't. If they took away the trailer stands the halls would have been near empty. Won't bother another year.

Didn't think much of it, won't bother again, long walk from the car park and no signage whatsoever, pretty **** poor to be honest.....

Not a bad day, bumped into all I expected to - except Mike !!
Show was lacking something, less organising clubs, fewer cars on display with the wow factor, more space for caterers and sit-down areas.
Many lots in the auction failed to sell, some struggled to get any bids at all.
As ever, a good dinner arranged by FISCracer on the way home.

Not sure what happened to the parking. We'd paid for VIP but when got there it was already full. Everyone was having to turn round and follow non existent signs to another area. Being in a farmer's 4x4 we resorted to creating our own VIP space!

David, reckon we were lapping at the same pace on opposite sides of the circuit! Agree seemed to be more space and less stands / displays. Better for moving about is one advantage, however!

Seems like a good year to miss I think, I wonder how long this show can carry on here.

I went to the dirt bike show there last year on a Friday and it was a tenner to get in.

Seems as often is the case, two wheeled fans are treated like humans, car fans are treated like cash cows.

No more.

I don't know what people are moaning about. Similar stands to normal I would say but the club's do rotate the cars on display. Some interesting things to see, like the BRM-Rover, the HSCC stand, the Group B cars and the Williams'.

Far better than Autosport and far better VfM. No parking charges, advance tickets are reasonable, the food is OK quality and, if you go at the weekend theres the rally cars to see.

I shall be there next year, may give Autosport a miss.

If anyone has any pics from the rally stage, or links to them, would be good to see!

There were some interesting food stands around the place as alternatives to the trad burgers, and none were stupid prices. I did wonder how much business the Guy with all the pongy cheeses and salami thingies would do, however.....

Afraid I was disappointed too. Nothing like as good as previous years - all a bit flat. Great to see so many old friends but otherwise frankly I would not bother.

Did anyone see anyattendees under 50? A few on the stands but it does not bode well for the future

Other than the odd cup of coffee, the only thing we bought while there on Friday was some pongy cheese. That stand seemed very busy.

Definitely down on stand content compared to previous years, but to me it always represents the start of the season and I enjoy catching up with like minded people- one of the best social events at this time of year.

Mixed results at the auction apparently, quite a lot not selling - but £260K (plus commission!) for a Mercedes 190E has to be a world record by a country mile.........

Went yesterday, have learned to treat these shows as merely a social exercise but did think the show was a little lacking something this year. Felt I should buy something but other than the tool guys there wasn't much on offer of interest. Was looking for some anti-roll bar sliding clamps but didn't find any. Spent 10 minutes watching the rally stage as a mate was taking part (Fiat Cinquecento), good to see the Short Quattro and Delta S4 having a blast.

It was good looking cheese, so hope you enjoyed it!

Agree with your and other's comments about treating the show as a social occasion. I don't think they even bother to try and encourage youngsters.....

Auction results now on the website- https://www.silverstoneauctions.com/...ew_lots/pn/all

Had a canny day there yesterday, prtty much agree with everyone elses comments as it the first time i been to motorsport show and come home with a bag full of pies n cheese!

Loved the action on the live stage as sum crews were giving it there all and putting on a fantastic show. Really hope someone got on video who ever was at the wheel of the 555 Impreza overtake on Mick Strafford in the Firenza Can AM as that was so close to a monster accident and had everyone watching close their eyes.

Anyways heres my vid from the live stage, enjoy:

Not been to RR for a few years.
Halls looked the same, a few interesting cars about but little else to interrupt the walk.

The live rally has improved greatly since my last visit and we spent a good deal of time being entertained by the drivers throwing the cars about.

A few pics from the rally stage:
