McLaren will lose Hugo Boss sponsorship at the end of the season.

Hugo Boss will switch to Mercedes AMG in 2015.

That makes sense. Excellent marketing strategy for both Hugo Boss and Mercedes.

Because of the limited short term thinking of the chief executives whose planning horizon hardly extends past just a few years. The main goal is to make sure that the company books look healthy _now_, so they get paid their fat bonuses. Granted, both Toyota and Honda have achieved surprisingly little despite a decade-long investment in the sport..

I just hope that the world of Formula 1 is not rocked another spygate scandal, this time involving the love triangle of Honda, McLaren, and Mercedes. Admit it, the likelihood of something like this happening is pretty high.

I'm sure their will be some knowledge of performance characteristics such as Dyno information available but I don't see how any intellectual property can be exchanged considering Mclaren are not involved in the engine design or build for the most part.

Danish media reports, that this will open up for the danish clothing giant Best Seller, who has sponsored Kevin Magnussen all the way to F1 (primarily seen as Jack&Jones). Best Seller was forced to tone down their sponsorship heavily when K. Magnussen joined McLaren because of Hugo Boss, and with Hugo Boss gone, Best Seller can increase their sponsorship.
If this happens, Kevin Magnussen will remain at McLaren for 2015.

Best Seller currently sponsor McLaren with the ASOS.com sticker on the rear of the wing.

My take away from all of this stuff about how Honda continued their work is a new found respect for what the Brackley based (Brawn/Honda/etc) group accomplished. Hugo Boss sounds more like Jenson Button than Lewis Hamilton (Reebok).

I swear their was a post somewhere here that said Mercedes will lose their Hugo Boss sponsorship to Mercedes AMG and I was so confused


But Mclaren's "business model" changes? Does this mean they are getting large sums of money from Honda in addition to the free engines.

Isn't that just to tender for pit crew uniform washing powder?

Joking aside, of all the teams on the grid on Sunday the McLaren kit - uniforms and equipment - were absolutely immaculate. Uncluttered, simple design. Very striking.
