ERC round at Höljes: Those who look too deep into a glas and then start to become refractory as well have a good chance to spend some time in a Swedish boondocks clink now...

Are there any plans for live television of the Lydden ERC round? If not there should be! Maybe we should start a campaign!

The Eye should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
The economic situation hits the ERC racers. Olivier Anne can’t get the budget for ERC. Guttorm Lindefjell is not sure he has the budget enough for a whole season. Rumours say Isachsen and Pailler also may have some problems. And in an interview in NWT Per Eklund also admit economic problems.

The first European Championship race is unusually early, already 12-13 April at Lydden Hill in England.
- The goal is to drive there and then we shall see in due course.

Per Eklunds Saab 9-3 as he drove in the ERC and SRC last season is to have a twin brother.
- It's a match we are putting together now.
Construction began last year but was not completed.
It now seems the rental of the other car is to be the only way to get to start myself.
The plan is to rent both the car and support, preferably for an entire season.
- It is only to sit in and drive. The question is who can rent, all have financial difficulties.

Per did not want to start with the building until he improved last year's car and had something good to copy.
Two-year’s hunt for better performance at last bore fruit a month ago. At TrollSpeed in Trollhättan improvements were made on the engine. The European champion from 1999 was only tenth in Euro 2008 but has apparently now two improved cars in his garage.

He also has George Tracey’s Peugeot 307 who he supported last season. Tracey has been hit by financial crisis in Ireland, but perhaps will drive. Continued cooperation is an alternative way to get money”

So if you have some extra money you can do the Lydden ERC in a fast and good looking car!

@ Dave: And why is Jos Kuypers using an Italian racing license from 2009 on?

What I understanded from it it's because he has a conflict with the Dutch Motorsport Federation.

Lol, thanks Dave, thought it looked European rather than Dutch, Jos uses centre locks!!

I know Sverre was selling a few and also the guy that bought Michaels 07 car was selling up, Norkus. might be that one.

I think it's a complete new one build by Jernberg. But i don't know it for sure.

Edit: see news item 1073 ERC24.com

Kuypers’ team has been working on a new Focus ST for most of 2008. The car is based on a Jernberg Motorsport-built bodyshell and the Dutchman will break his long association with Martin Schanche by switching from MSR transmission system that he has used ever since making the move to Division One. Kuypers will not be drawn on his choice of transmission for the new car.
Kuypers has no plans to rush the new car into competition, also planning to test as much as possible ahead of the 2009 season. There are already plans for 2010, for which Kuypers has designs on a Ford Fiesta.

It's a Gunnarsson / Jernberg build body. Than build up by Kuypers team.

So you're both right

And than to think he also bought a Motorsport shell of the new Fiesta for 2010 that will be build by Godfrey... Meaning that he will have experience with all the great men behind the ERC scenes: Schanche (MSR), Gallaghan, VA Engineering, Gunnarsson, Jernberg, Godfrey... Add Trollspeed to the list and he would have had them all! Looks a bit like the old Schanche stories, he tried all engine builders and configurations before getting it right!

Norwegians

Two Norwegian drivers with similar economic situations but different approaches to the ERC season. Guttorm Lindefjell has not yet secured a budget for a full ERC season. He have bought a new (big rig) trailer from USA and spent about 600 000 Nkr on a total overhaul of his Skoda. (Helga II) A new gearbox, 2 new engines…He’s ready! Guttorm will start the first half of the season and hopes to get the budget for the second half “along the way”. Sverre Isachsen also had his car on a overhauling. Like Guttorm, Sverre also have problems to get his budget for 2009. But unlike Guttorm Sverre will not drive at all if he can’t get the budget for a full ERC season before the season starts. “For us it’s all or nothing” say’s Sverre. “We could do this last year, but this year we dare not take that chance”.

I've seen something about Frode and a C30 on a norwegian forum, but I'm not at all sure how accurate that is.

The first pic is the new C30, but won't be ready this season.
He rebuilded and improved the S40 over the winter and will be testing in France the week before Lydden. He confirmed to compete at Lydden, but is unsure if he will get budget for the full ERC. But he is commited to run a full season, emphisysing on the ERC.
He also is rebuilding his supernational S40 to be sold.

Second article is of Dynamite Tjelle, who's comming out to play in D2. He's waiting for the final parts to complete the car and hopes to be ready for Lydden.

Also confirmation on that site that Loov will not compete in the ERC this year. At the last moment 2 of his sponsors quit and he is left no option to compete. He will sell the car. If its not sold than he will try to defend his win in Holjes and some national races.
