Yes nicky, I do use the satellite option, but when I change to map mode, sometimes it's off-line.

Here's my version using the satellite view, which is much better to use than the map view, as the map view is totally wrong. F1Fan, you said you use the map view because the map view and the satellite view don't match up. For this location, they match up where the roads are, but not where the airport runways are, therefore your track is using a lot of grass sections and not much runways. It's like you're creating a road course/airport runway hybrid. Here is how I would design a track here, using the satellite view, which is more accurate of the area than the map.

http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=637887

I have a feeling all of your airport tracks are like that. The satellite view is what you should be using to design your tracks, not the map. I suggest checking out your other airport tracks and notice when switching between the map and satellite views how the roads line up and the runways don't. Because you are using the map view, which is usually inaccurate, your tracks are, like I stated, horribly inaccurate to the actual area. Use the satellite view from now on.

I have now started to use the map view to locate the airport, and use the satellite view for creating them. I then switch back to the map view when I bookmark the tracks, so I know what's what. Thanks for the tip, mandretti.

Sunny Hawaii is next on my MASSIVE (and I mean MASSIVE) list of tracks.

Sorry if it is slightly off-line, as I built it on map mode, and as mandretti39 pointed out, it will probably be horribly off-line. Comments, edits and suggestions are welcome, and feel free to PM me if you have any inquiries about any of the tracks in this thread. Thanks.

Bad f1f, stop doing that!

And about the off-line comment...no, that layout actually isn't, all of it is on tarmac...but there are tons of other roads around them that you could use so it's not just two long straights.

Yeah, thanks for the telling off, Flaming_Wurzle! I have been picking international airports across the world, mainly in America, by following the interstates, and when I see a city, I think 'What have they got here, then?'. Then I zoom in, locate the airport, switch to satellite mode, and create.

The number of people posting on all the threads has dropped since Christmas, also there has been a lot of G-map circuits of late.

Not a criticism just the way it is at the moment

Thanks for that, SBF. Now I understand why, but this is a series of street and airport circuits, and will carry on for months. Cheers for clearing the whole thing up.

It's very "boxy", and I'm not sure about 2 straights one over a mile long, and the other just on the mile.

Well, the long straights would allow for slipstreaming, but there would need to be lots of run-off at the end of the straights. And, yes, it is boxy, but that is due to the fact that I didn't use satellite mode when I designed it, so I couldn't see all the other possible routes (which, for some strange reason, there are more of on satellite mode).

Well here's what I feel is a more realistic Edit, of that particular airport...not your track.

http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=787996

12 turns, and the start finish straight (the aircraft ramp) might be a little short for rolling starts so a race could be green flagged on the straight following the double apex Turn 2

I like it. It's nice and fast, and turns 3 and 5 look like good overtaking points.

It reminds me Brno Circuit in Czech Republic. I like it because simple and fast.
