Yeah that came out of nowhere. I guess the attitude was...
"Well there are no additions or deletions of tracks. We know the dates. Heck there is not even going to be class structure changes to any event. Ok well I'll be darned lets just release the whole thing already!" Since it was identical to 2024, they deemed to release it now I guess. |

It definitely underscores the stability of the series right now. It'll make commercial conversations easier this year.

And as he pointed out, they claimed the dates first so everyone else can figure it out around them. They can't claim IMSA screwed us by waiting to August

I'm a little annoyed at the announcement SMS which made this seem like a big deal, and then they bumped some sessions by 15 minutes to do it, which broke my app. |

Three points:
• The 2024 schedule was presented as kind of a one-off, because of not having to conflict with Olympics for broadcasting reasons. Guess not, which is a little surprising. • As essentially a repeat of 2024, the schedule has all the same issues as this year’s schedule: A 6 hour race at Indy (ugh), no Lime Rock (would like to have an explanation as the “Olympics is when the race would usually be” used for 2024 doesn’t hold in 2025), no GTP at Mosport (I’m okay with it, but people north of the border will complain), and the street race in Detroit (at best a necessary evil… or maybe just evil). • Getting the schedule out this early does signal stability — and is kind of a jab at a series that seems to constantly having things not go quite according to plan: Indycar. |

This new englander is very sad that Lime Rock didn't make it on the 2025 calendar. I was hoping it was just a one year sabbatical because of the Olympics this summer, not to be I 'spose.
Might have to try out Watkins Glen in 2025 instead! |

Sounds like Lime Rock fans might be stuck with VP and MPC series race in the future. Not a bad race weekend but not the big classes. Especially if the 4 Hour at Mid-Ohio goes well in June

I can see WEC expanding aswell so fair play to Doonan for giving a huge up yours to them, here we are, we are done they do a lot wrong at IMSA but this is a very good thing and hopefully forces the ACO to stop looking so inwardly at only cash, there is supposed to be a special relationship between them, so stop accepting money from places we don't want to see on the calendar like Qatar and dig in and do more events at real circuits that fans want to go to like Silverstone, Zandvoort, Nurburgring (not that one) and I a sure many others
IMSA have tried to at least keep fans into it and you can guarantee they would NEVER have an event like Qatar, as it offers the partners absolutely nothing. Their business model is decades ahead of WEC quite honestly |

If you are willing to split classes up more then you can have more events and/or not stretch resources of teams so much. GTD is so strong right now. I think you can have a couple more rounds with GTD Pro only or GTD Am only. Each category has 9 to11 manufacturers represented still. For instance Long Beach will be GTD Am only, but I think fans still get Corvette and Ford representation through AWA and Proton.
Also I don't think you need 5 endurance rounds. That is too many and too expensive. Well for the pro am teams at least. My radical suggestion is to make Petit Le Mans GTP and GTD pro only. So the P2 and GTD Am teams have 4 enduro races which include 2 moderate 6 hour events. |

Not radical, just plain ridiculous. The Petit has been an endurance multi class race from its inception. What is it with you and the Petit? Quit messing with what's been working for over 25 years.

It’s times like this that I realize I don’t know anything about the sport, or indeed geography.

Then again, it works for both series. Been long saying that FIA needs to bring back Silverstone (6-8 hours) and Nurburgring (1000Km) back into the fold.
And for IMSA, make it a true North American series... keep MoSport as is with the P2/P3, and for the GTP/GT3, Montreal Circuit Villeneuve. And to really... "spice things up", how about late April/early May with a Tex-Mex racing deal. COTA first, then Hermanos just in time for " Cinco de Mayo". Now that gives a great party atmosphere to a race weekend. |

Who are you to stop everyone from futzing until it's not right. True professionals know when it's been moved and tweaked and to put down the tools. Personally IMSA should have stopped pre-Indy with that but I'm not in charge

Perhaps get rid of GT at Petit, especially the worthless PRO class and introduce LMP3.
Less or no GTs and more of the the life blood of the series - the Ams. |

The Pro class in IMSA is what also needs introducing to WEC, seeing under talented rich people trying to do stuff they cant, well if you think that's great, fair enough, I would rather see top level guys racing properly thanks.
Some of them are very good, but let;s face it, they make a lot of mistakes, cause plenty of yellows in all they drive that can be good, but the endless *****ing about yellows in IMSA, well a fair amount of them are caused by Ams |

Buick?!? Wow. Johnny O and Oliver Gavin involved, as they are in the target demographic for marketing. Wow.
Welcome to April |

They should have doubled down and gone with GMC.
