Lola should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Monoposto at Mallory

Looks like im about to make my 2nd race of the season at Mallory. Thanks have to go out to my dad for working hard on the car and the Harrisons for giving me some rubber to run on.
Anyone else going and who do you think will dominate the weekend?
Timms looks to be going well in 2000 and maybe the man this weekend although Mark H or Robin D will sure to be on the pace.

ps anyone have any spare tickets? (have lots of family making it to this one)

I would imagine that whoever goes testing on wed will be likely to go fairly well. The comtec cars always go well at Mallory.

The white, Blue, and Yellow cars all looked very fast even though there was so much traffic there is talk of introducing the Gerards Toll Road.

Anyone got any times from testing? I heard the Harrisons were in the 44's, Phil Moore 45's and Jurgen around 2 mins?

Thanks Monopostos

On behalf of the Assembly Area Marshals, I'd just like to say thank you to all the Monoposto drivers who took part in Race 3 at Mallory Park today for your patience and understanding during the gridding up in the assembly area.

The problem, as I understood it, was because some of the Race 6 cars were being moved to Race 3 and the timekeepers had to issue amended Grid Sheets which, as you know, were handed to us at the last minute!

Thanks especially to the very nice gentleman (whose name I have now forgotten!) who assisted me in my task of explaining to you those of you queued in the paddock why you had to sit there instead of in the assembly area.

Once again, my thanks to you all.

Sheila

Thanks for the post & thanks for your patience too. I feel that you were as much a victim as the drivers. Unfortunately, I think that this confusion could have been avoided if the BARC had acted before the event - they must have known that they were over subscribed several days beforehand and late entries could have been warned that they were destined to be reserves. As it was, no one seemed to know who the late entries were much less what the practice times were. Pretty poor, I reckon. Fortunately (?), a couple of people could not start & so all those capable of running got a race.

I seem to remember the exact same thing happened last year too. I only got to race cos Richard Purcells engine blew in qualifying. No-one told me until 30 mins before race when I was called to the Race Control and told I couldn't run unless someone dropped out.

I notice Lola has not mentoned his accident at the Hairpin, he did say it was his own fault.

Maybe as a punishment his dad has stopped him using the computer.

Lola,

When the old man lets you out of your room and back onto the computer to read this....

We can put you in touch with the man who made the rear wishbones for our 883.. he has the jigs already and is not too expensive.

or if you were intending on doing Donington you are more than welcome to borrow the bits off our car (and have your own rear wing back!!)

failing that we could probably find you some equally bent parts so that you can match the right hand side of you car to the left!!!!

I heard that there were alot of complaints at Mallory about driving standards and flags. I heard that the clerk of the course had to call a special meeting following complaints by mono about DD and other drivers. I remember when I was testing at Mallory last year and Jim Blockley drove straight into me, its not the sort of track where you can have novice or dangerous drivers. Perhaps the answer to the problem of over subscription would have been to remove all the drivers that were not paying attention to the Blue and or yellow flags but then that may have only left the front 8 cars

although there was a little confusion it was all explained clearly by sheila, and wasn't a problem.... it certainly made a very interesting race very very busy 28 cars and i think me and richard lapped upto 6th place!

I have to say the briefing prior to the race seemed to of worked i didn't have any probs getting past the back markers and there were plenty of blue flags being waved, so thankyou very much to the extreamly observant marshals and curtious drivers! unfortuneatly i couldn't keep with richard carding....maybe next time!

Yes im still licking my wounds. The shunt was entirely my fault. I just locked a wheel and it spun me around into poor mr Goodwin.... im very sorry.

Cheers Neil, at the moment im not intending to do Donny but i think at the moment i just may need a bottom left rear wishbone as all the spares i have don’t match. We may modify those to suit or contact your man. As for the wing dad said he would make a new one. Never tried to make one yet but he said he could do it.

Alan, im not allowed on here yet so shhh

Cheap Formula Vauxhall Lotus could still be competitive for £5 - £7k
