Now I don't feel so old. Fancy someone remembering that.

It would cost a bit, but I'd be prepared for a pay per view thing for bathurst (probably that only). Thats what I was thinking a lot about yesterday...
Is the supporter market big enough to support this model? I can remember Bernie's F1 attempt at this closing down after a couple of years.

Couldn't people fashion their own antennas and avoid the tax? Could any large metal object in or near the house have wires attached and be turned into an antenna on the quiet?

I 'd like to see it on SBS. But only for my own personal amusement of seeing Les Murray commentate on something other than football - it'd suit him.

I've got no doubt that man can do it all! (I'm hoping you are referring to Les Murray the Hungarian-born soccer commentator, rather than Les Murray the )poet

Absolutely. I love Les!!! A change of face might even be good for the sport. Imagine him announcing 'foreign' names like Caruso, Patrizi or D'Alberto - absolute gold!!!

I would be interested to see what Seven's new Digital channel will be. They may consign V8s to this channel depending on what the agreement is
As I understand it, anti-siphoning legislation would prevent that. The new digitial channels are for all intents and purposes, the same as pay tv as to how the legislation sees what major sports need to be protected from.
