Maybe they should start looking for a different sponsor with a 'lighter' colour?

Yellow is one of the lightest colours, so perhaps they should revert to their orange colours of Spyker? Or maybe get Renault in as a sponsor so that they can paint the cars yellow?

Perhaps the "go" is to paint the Aston's silver? I mean, 007's Astons have usually been silver, so fits the brand.

No other F1 teams reportedly using silver in 2022 and it'll prevent a situation where the Astons look similar to the Mercedes - oh, wait a minute.....

I think there was a superstition in America that green cars caused bad luck and might have actually banned them from competing for a time. Good job the likes of Tony Vandervill and Colin Chapman didn’t listen to this!

Never heard that before and seen plenty of green. US colors were often blue stripes over white or the reverse for many people but green wasn't uncommon at all

On the plans by Aston to build a new campus, etc. at Silverstone, I noticed an advert in the papers for a bond that they are issuing to raise money for the project. The team's backers obviously want outsiders to pay for it.

It definitely was a thing back in the day - migrated to Oz too. Didn't stop people from having green race cars, particular if they weren't superstitious.

The only 3 major racers I could find were stupid with their decision, 2 won majority of the races after using a green car. Hadn't every heard it before and definitely was not a thing in NJ short track, red or green was common

Course most people I knew loved British cars and the various greens were popular, and silver.

But back Aston, even their pictures it wasn't a great green. Hopefully it looked better in person, but then it's a busy livery so the green has competition

A bond is an old fashioned (everything old is new again) way of borrowing money from the markets without pledging specific assets against them.

Unless the bond is government backed (doubtful) it is not likely to be a capital guaranteed investment. The coupon rate would also likely to need to be quite attractive for the level of risk.. however in the era of almost 0% bank interest rates, as little as 1% seems to be a win these days

The big challenge is how to liquify a bond... if it is traded somewhere... or sits in one of those dreaded dark pools where cents on the face value dollar rock.

Bonds often have a limited life span as well, with a proper maturity date, putting pressure on the issuer to find a replacement bondholder and/or an alternate source of capital by a known point in time.
If the new motorsport equivalent of the Taj Mahal is built by then, and the team is more successful, the valuation and potential of the property may be more favourable for conventional financing..

Still wouldnt be a surprise to see a bank or brokerage mob appear as a team partner at some stage

Well we’ll have to watch this space. Quite frankly I would be quite surprised if he did make the switch, although I wouldn’t be surprised if he started a technical partnership with another, but Alpine wouldn’t be one I would think of. Have to see if there is any substance to this story
