Maple City Racing had one heckuva Father's Day! Winning in Portland brings us all the way up to fourth in the Championship!

To celebrate, we brought our three drivers (who finished 1st, 2nd and 4th) out for several icy-cold Budweisers. That was alot of fun. However, realizing that the team has run out of money, the principals bolted the establishment and left the drivers with the bill.

Boehm American Racing had huge mechanical problems this weekend that may be catostrophic to our Championship hopes. We congratulate Maple City Racing for there excellant result and look forward to an exciting weekend at Cleveland.

2 on the Podium in Portland

Team Smersh had an odd run of luck in Portland resulting in an impressive win for Cristiano da Matta (BRA, A Marca Bavaria, Magna International). Paul Tracy (CDN Coors Light, Home Hardware) had an excellent race placing 3rd while Alex Tagliani (CDN, Molson Canadian, Government of Canada) was unfortunate with engine troubles forcing him out of the race after only 8 laps.
The win was Cristiano's second at Portland, the first being in 2002.

Team Principal Peter Friesen said "It was a great race, on a great day at Portland. Congratulations to Cristiano and Paul for their impressive results, and to Alex for strapping in despite his back spasms. We know we'll see you on the podium soon too."

Director of Operations Frank Stronach was unavailable for comment, having flown with Alex's engine back to Cosworth.

Team Smersh runs Lola chassis powered by Ford on Bridgestone tires.
