Daniel Pinnegar should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
AmD Technik development blog

I've been looking at AmD Technik's website recently and found this blog on it and I thought it would be an interesting insight into how a car gets developed in the lead up to a new season. Difference being that this is AmD's first season in the BTCC.

Thanks, I'm doing some work experience with AmD in February so if you want me to find out anything in general I'll see what I can find out.

Nothing specific really. Just wonder how well they feel they will do and what they are aiming for.

While the pics are great, I hope the blog was a bit more verbal. Would be nice to hear more about parts that needed work to make the car BTCC legal... is the Sadev gearbox OK, for example?

And about moving the fuel tank, maybe the Estonians originally located it on right to partly compensate the weight of the driver on left... plus all Finnish tracks are clockwise, so some extra weight on right hand side shouldn't be so bad.

Why dont you just purchase the rear beam parts from Seat Sport as they are already bushed as for the Supercopa! As I understand they both use the same rear beam?

Hi

The base chassis is the same as the Leon so we did look into using these parts but.......for example:

The SEAT Sport modified rear subframe (without arms, etc) is £4700+vat and the standard part is £160+vat so we thought we would make our own.

With regards spec changes to suit BTCC, these are minimal. Only side protection panels, fuel lines and brake cylinder reservoirs moved. Apart from that the spec from the 2 different ASN's is pretty similiar?

A few more shots added: http://www.amdessex.com/btcc.blog.cfm

Cheers Shaun.

Thanks for letting us follow the development. It's my favorite website ATM, I love it when teams let their fans follow what happens.

A big thumb up on the finish so far, the car will look great! I agree, it's all in the details

Hi

Is that for the Supercopa or S2000 part?

Have you got a pic of that part? Might be of interest.

Cheers Shaun.

shaun,

Be very careful do not let the powers to be bully you into only using s2000 parts because for sure the other competitors do not!

If you cared to take a look under the
rear of the two Cartridge world Seats one was S2000 the other was not!!

And what is S2000 on that Focus?

Is the front and rear beam S2000 on a vauxhall?

Honda S2000 no they get away with calling it local homoligation

You could easily end up with the only S2000 spec car on the grid

Couple of shots I took at Brands yesterday of AmD Technik's shakedown.
The car didn't seem to have any problems, and was putting in plenty of laps which is a good sign

Steven Kane was also testing a Motorbase BMW.

Hi, enjoyed the blog, good luck in your first season.

May I ask a question?

Whats required to change in an engine block to take it from a production unit into S2000 unit?
