Nope, I am somewhat surprised myself. However, don't think that he'll return to rallying after this http://www.walfridsson.com/Bilder_al...DSCF2416_s.jpg happened in 2006 to him…

He is planning to build a new car. I think his options are to build a new one or reshell the existing one. I suppose he is just testing the water. I heard he was thinking about coming to the Superprix

Is that his hair and blood? If so, probably not a laughing matter?

shhh I surprised at you, I thought you would have heard about his collision with a Elk.
I'm surprised there is not a link to a video on Motorsport Mad

I would surely not use a laughing smilie if it was Stecka’s hair and blood. No mate, during a rally he hit an elk while doing no less than 149kms and that elk exploded right into his Mitsubishi Lancer Evo. A Swedish elk is not as big as a north American moose, but nevertheless… At least they are the same stupid, AFAIK. They usually wait beside the roads till trafic comes and then they start crossing. Some kind of Scandinavian roulette?

I think fullcircle is right. I forgot to have seen ERC24 news no 1062:

[…] In his second year with the Renault Clio, Walfridson is already thinking about 2009. “Now we have used this car for a couple of years we know there are things that could make it better but I am not sure if we will change this one or start again with a new body,” he said. “Renault changed the way it works in Sweden when we built this car and it has taken some time to establish a relationship with the new management but now we are talking with them about being more involved. I want to stay with Renault because it fits with my business [the Walfridson family operate Renault, Volvo and Ford dealerships] and we have done a lot of work with this car.” […]

I think the cars seem to be rs-used after acouple of years for the really quick guys

But I ahve to say I think Holte and Haugn have done amazing work with tneir relatively old cars. That S40 has been flying this year and the old Xsara still has good pace.

Isnt it insane at the pricees though, gotta be over 150 grand for a car!!

I agree - with the strength of the Euro, it is more like £210k for the car.

I hope someone buys it (Ollie?!) as I think it is one of the smartest looking cars and would be a shame to see it leave the series.

To be honest, what else could you use it for??

Maybe use the shell for ice racing or summat but he engine tranny is fairly rallycross specific?
