Interesting to read on Twitter that FPR think they can get away with only 6 stops with the E85 fuel... I would have thought this is actually quite optimistic...
I know of one squad who think there may be as many as 8, and are puzzled as to their tyre strategy, as they arent given enough tyres for the weekend to swap sets every 21 or 22 laps or so.... Perhaps we may see a return to the days of the privateer, where only a pair of tyres is replaced on a car? |

Don't know if this has been discussed, but does anyone know were the Team Vodafone Bathurst launch is. It's in Sydney somewhere but don't know where or what time.
Cheers. |

I think there will be at least 3 mabye 4 teams having a shot at the "Lap of the Gods Time" as it has been called. Whincup, Tander, Frosty and Courtney all have a half descent shot at it, the funny thing from this is that only one holden has 1 shot

lasy year J Richards in the sprint gas got to about 0.1 of a second of the record
JC himself got to withing .3 of a second in qualifying JC is suggesting the new FG falcon is faster than the old car and so he should be able to make it. I cant see why this is not possible, providing the weather is good |

But to do it in the shootout Pecky, dunno, no one has got close in the shootout. Let us not forget multiple laps to warm the tyres etc is a little different in qualifying. And they still won't have the powder that was in that gun under the bonnet. It will all be car and handling improvements. |

point valid sizzle, but firstly it does not have to be in the shootout to break the record
second in 07 frosty did a 2.07.09, just 0.2 secs off in the shoot out JC's theory is that the fG will make up that time difference, but it does come down to weather and track conditions |

I was there at the chase that day (when the best viewing was still available) and to hear that thing on the limiter as he entered the chase made the hairs on the neck stand on end. The two green boxs that were there already ensured that I knew I was watching something special. I know one engineer who was ready to pack the car and gear up there and then. |

sizzle, while the memory of the lap will still be there, Its just a timing record and records are made to be broken and broken they will in time.
Wont change our memories of the lap. (i was on pit straight) bit harsh GTR, he won it again the next year and was the leading holding finisher the last two years (including a podium last year) |

QUOTE=GTRMagic;2554922]Funny that that form has never returned huh....[/QUOTE]
Well with Murphs twilight years now behind him maybe it is unlikely they will have the front running speed to repeat it or to win. Skaife was quicker at PI remember (the bloke flung from HRT for being too slow). So seeing as how neither member of Car 51 will have the speed to break it does V8Bet have odds on who will? Might be worth a flutter. |

Mt. Panorama forecast. A few showers and maybe a bit cool for record breaking, although the outlook may change between now and Sunday. Would be good to see someone top Murphs lap, but I doubt JC has the necessary talent.
Detailed forecasts- Thursday Friday Saturday and Sunday |

Funny, Bathurst is just about the only circuit in the world, outside of North America, where a qualifying lap is given major recognition at all. Jamie Whincup is the official lap record holder from a race lap set in 2007 at 2:08.4651. |
