Nice 3rd for Spyker in GT2. I know, no qualy or race yet, but it does show they're working hard on that car imho. Will be interesting to see them next year.

First qualifying is over and RAR are on provisional pole, GPLK in 2nd and the first of the MC12's are 3rd with the #10 car. The number #66 GruppeM Porsche leads GT2.

Indeed the Cirtek DBR9 is very strong and should IMO start as favourites tommorow. Looking ahead to next year though, defintley potential title challengers but I think they will be up against some very stiff opposition in the shape of the BMS DBR9's and of course the MC12's. Who's going to take the fight to Cirtek tommorow though? My money would be on the GPLK car if anyone.

Who's going to bring the money for this Cirtek Aston title challenge in 2006? As far as I can tell, Aston Martin Middle East and their connections are bankrolling this two-race venture with Bouchut/Ortelli. RAR/Convers hasn't seemed to be funding the previous Aston ventures in quite the secure way I was predicting them to.

The car itself belongs a collector, not the team. So you have two questions for 2006:
1) Does the collector want to race his DBR9 again? 2) Who will pay for this? If I would be the Team Cirtek, I shouldn´t expect, that Vasiliev / Formenko will bring their money again to Cirtek....... |
