The problem with current circuit designs is that they all end up looking the same!

Sorry - Sunday morning silly mood, couldn't help myself.

That wet qualy was well worth staying up for (kicked off about midnight here in Oz). I'm so with Brundle when he said that seeing the drivers out in the wet, pushing the cars is what we want to see - it's one of the challenges that F1 should be about. If there's risk of aquaplaning from standing water etc then fair enough, the risk is too high but it was really well assessed yesterday - good outcome.

Fantastic lap from Mr Hamilton and although wet conditions are by their nature variable, he definitely seemed to have an edge.

If the weather is better for race day they'll be on a green circuit after all that rain so we may well see something of a lottery with setups - headache for the teams but good for those of us who watch!

Going by the performance of Mclaren and Forza so far this year, I wonder if Carlos is regretting his decision. Maybe for once My Man Dan made the right choice.

Nice to have a bit of rain shaking things up. What a lap by Hamilton, he's still a master in these conditions. What a save by Max, that was spectacular to watch and well done both McLarens, still on the pace

Great to see Russell finally break into Q2, let's hope he can mix it with the cars around him at least. The Racing Points though really looked out of sorts in the wet after their dry practice pace

I was wondering if they had, knowing the minimal changes you can make under parc ferme rules, and knowing the forecast for the race was pretty well guaranteed to be dry, had opted to sacrifice a b it of 'wet' qualifying pace and used a dry weather race friendly set up, knowing the benefits would come raceday.

Was secretly hoping it would be a wet race today, but looking very unlikely, so might see a walk over by the Mercedes cars, but we can hope just like last week things unfold with a few surprises

Yeah, at least the rain mixed up the grid in qualifying, so we’re probably going to have an interesting race and I don’t think we need a SC this time

Really? It wasn’t exactly a walk over last week...yeh I know the safety cars helped but max was catching Bottas before his failure......and talking of which Red Bull know Mercs weakness now....just have to push them so they use the kerbs

I do hope Cyril isn't holding Ricciardo leaving against him for not calling Ocon to get out of his way. Brundle is spot on. Ricciardo is the faster driver on tyres that will last longer. Ocon should be tapped on the shoulder.
