500 prequalifying
well pre quailifying has been run and won at the queensland 500.here are the results of the session.
Pre-Qualifying Results: 46. J.FAULKNER/C.BAIRD John Faulkner Racing Holden VT 1:11.7785 16. D.McDOUGALL/A.MIEDECKE Pepsi-Cola Racing Holden VT 1:11.9586 021. J.RICHARDS/A.FOGG Team Kiwi Racing Holden VT 1:11.9834 14. J.BROCK/S.OWEN IMS-Imrie Motorsport Holden VX 1:12.1204 75. A.TRATT/A.JONES Toll Racing Ford AU 1:12.2848 24. P.ROMANO/O.KELLY Holden Young Lions Holden VX 1:12.5710 50. P.SCIFLEET/A.McGILL RPM International Racing Ford AU 1:13.5059 bad luck for Phillip Scifleet and Aaron McGill on failing to pre qualify and being the only car sent home..seems a shame really ..one more car would not hurt but then again tony seems to think someone from previous rounds is gonna sue him...probably fair enough too  but what a shocker the RPM team are having..Canto has been way off the pace and seems as if now will be dumped from the team and now their two youngsters have failed to get through pre qual here. less than a second seperated the rest of the group which is a pretty good effort and ive just noticed young layton Crambrook's name up there with Mick Donaher in the Ultra tune commodore...great to see him back ..but what the heck has happened to tyler mecklam ???? I have been very impressed with him and think he has a good future in the sport ..anybody know ???? |

Shame to see RPM team miss out - their team owner, Terry Steer is having a lot of financial difficulties, and if rumours are to be believed, he might have to pull out. I read earlier this year that he only has a enough money left for selected rounds - after that he has to pull out unless he secures a major sponsor, something not likely to happen if he isn't even starting races.
 On a positive note, good to see Team Kiwi in, they've had a tough season. |

What a flamin stuff up of a weekend for them....after the Paragon debacle, they are now allowed to compete... |

pre-qualifying shouldn't have been had anyway, the track can accomadate all the cars

Not only that but they had accepted 36 entries and only had 35.
They still had pre qualifying to take it down to 34. I asked JF if he was happy after pre-q he said "no just relieved". |
