Last race of the season for us. Me in 70s in the Fulvia and Jason bringing the Griffith out for its annual race in HRS. Despite saying we wanted a to keep it "simple" this year, that will bring us to racing 5 cars this year. Sadly the Lancia Beta hasn't had an outing this year. Fingers crossed for a good finale.

Anyone seen an entry list, uncharacteristically late on the HSCC website.

Didn't want to travel up if there's nobody worth watching !!!!

I'll be there in the Guards Trophy in our Cannon GT, number 81.

Only my second race in it after years in the 100E in HRSR, and my first with the Guards Trophy.

1100 cc of *RAW POWER* against Cobra's, Chevron's and GT40's should be 'interesting'

Have any of you entrants received your Final Instructions yet, please. It's nice to know what is going on and how.

A great day at HSCC Silverstone .... have just returned and now gently lowering myself into a vat of The Old Red Biddy.

The rain having been through at 0800-ish, the track was very wet & slippery for the first two or three practise sessions. The Historic Road Sports fielded a 33-strong field which is pretty good for the last race of the year.

The race at 1.30 was held in 'drying' conditions, but still slippery enough to catch out the unwary. The Camaro was 6th on the grid and 7th at the finish ... it seems counter-intuitive but the big V8 is very tractable on a greasy track, and very probably this is one of the rare times when weight (1420kg) is an advantage. It certainly seemed so today.

Another season ends ... very many thanks to all the Marshal teams, great flagging today and a pleasure the whole season.

Some excellent racing with some very close finishes. Congratulations to all the drivers for mostly managing to keep it on the black bit. The waltzing during the last 5 minutes of the 70's road sports were excusable given that you didn't have time to fit rudders and outboard engines before the monsoon.

Nick tried to find you at lunch time, I found the car but no one was at home.

Not to be pedantic, but that is not a 'drift' Percy it is a rear wheel slide, or 'power slide'. A proper four wheel drift is quite different, let us not confuse proper motor racing with some bizarre Oriental practice.

Nice to see you on the day, perhaps we may spend more time together at the Birkett?

D1.

PS; Nice pictures.

Was nice to meet you Bob - sorry for the confusion when we first met! As expected, I got rather monster end in the little Cannon, but had a great time! There's at least another 15 BHP to come, which should get me properly amongst the MGB's. That said, it handles brilliantly, and nothing pulled away from me in the corners.

Do take a look at the pictures, plenty of the Cannon, and yes it certainly held it's end up in the corners.
Glad we could say hello, and I look forward to 2014 (with the extra 15bhp)

Cheers,

Bob

Nick JM should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Sorry chaps - site was down and I could not log on beforehand.

I was there in HRS and Guards (my mate was driving in the Guards) in MGB no. 65.

Qually for HRS was very wet and to be honest even though it did not rain for the race the track did not seem to dry out until much later in the afternoon. Had some very hairy moments round Maggots/Beckets and threaded my way very gingerly round the Complex...seems I was not the only one finding Woodcote slippery as there were quite a few moments from a number of competitors.

Great fun and thank you too to all the marshalls who helped us out. Only my seventh race and first in the wet so a big learning curve.

Will check out the pics and hopefully see some of me!
