Jameson should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Interesting discussion.

I've been looking into this and from what I've heard, the works drivers make upwards from €150.000 a year at Porsche and Ferrari. Big and long-serving names such as Kristensen might well go to 7 figures, but just.

Then other top pros, like Minassian, I'd say get paid €10-20.000 per race if he is lucky (he is looking for drives now, after all). This has nothing to do with what he is worth comparing to works guys, just how it is.

Then for the rest of the pros, some drive for free, some have sponsors from which they take their cut and some get paid a few thousands a race. For example, the Aston trio in FIA WEC - Turner and Mücke are paid by Aston Martin, Fernandez brought in a hefty bag of money to get the ride.

Tougher times in racing nowadays and since the tobacco money's gone, noone's getting paid 250k a month.
