You got to explain what a GT prototype has to do with a WTCC racecar

If only if only...
Would be nice to see a Brera (not GT Bramzel, though it is a prototype) in the WTCC, but I really can't see it happening. Maybe Alfa will return with the 147 replacement, but i don't think they'd use a car like this, it's not mainstream enough. They'll use one of their more popular one's, not a specialist coupe. |

I know its a Brera, but the model is a GT, not a touringcar. If Alfa were to enter it would have to be with the 159. Somebody from N-Technology told me that they have actually built a prototype, or at least started on it. I'd love to see that bugger....

Sorry Bramzel, thought you got mixed up. Blame Alfa for naming their car after its class.

Yep, the Brera's a no since it can't be homologated with 4+ doors (since it only has 3).
The 147 & 159 are the only viable Alfa's, and the 147's too old really. The 159 would make a perfect DTM frame. |

The Brera is rather a 3-door 159, if that's too heavy the Brera will be too. And the GT is pretty much identical to the 147 IIRC.
I believe the 149 is set to debut in early 2009...they wouldn't enter anything before then anyway, so they might as well use the 149. |

Doesnt the Brera only come with a 3 litre V6 or something?

As long as it didn't look like that huge bee that entered the BTCC a few years back then I would like to see another Alfa, though a saloon please no hatchbacks, there are ladies present.

Maybe it will depend on how Fiat restructure their products. From what I can tell, Abarth is going to be the sole sporting division of the company, but I don't think Fiat will ever produce a car bigger than the Bravo ever again (the current Croma doesn't count...), so that might be worth looking out for - spin-off models are said to be planned but I think those will be more SUV and estate based. A saloon might be in the offing though.
Alfa Romeo has always been their sporting brand, but I think they are moving away from that more at the moment - they are going through a massive image change. |

Although that couldn't be a hinderance if we were to start .... EUROPEAN MPV THUNDER TOUR!!! I mean, NASCAR race pickup trucks and overpopulationmobiles are starting to sell a lot. |

You are right. I thought it was a saloon car.

God knows what the Croma is! Sort of an estate crossed with an MPV. Really flopped in the UK - taken off sale within 18 months making it one of the shortest periods for a mainstream car on sale here ever!
I vote the Bravo - largely because it looks brill and I'd love to see Abarth touring car racing. Having said that, isn't the plan to take the Abart Punto into rallying? |
