Those numbers are gonna trigger some people.

In before explanations on why Lewis and Vettel shouldn't be in the top 3.

You’re right, I hadn’t thought of that. I just thought it interesting to see the eras unfold. We all know why and what happened to make these things change.

I think it's remarkable that names like Stewart still appear decades later. That's what I took from it.

Stewart was the dominant driver of his generation, so you should not be surprised.

His career was short and they only had 11-12 races a season for the majority of his career. You should be surprised.

Strangely enough, more Grand Prix per season equates to "win inflation" - see Rosberg. But to get even close to this list requires immense ability.

To add a little more to the discussion.

The chart did not come out quite as planned, but includes all multiple world champions. I have added Mansell as he has the most wins as a single champion and Moss because he is still the driver with the most wins and did not become champion.
Some of the win and podium percentages make interesting reading. Fangio comes out on top in terms of wins and podiums per start. Hamilton is on top for those stats in the modern era by a good margin.

Driver Wins Podiums Starts % Wins per % Podiums
Start per Start
M Schumacher 91 155 306 29.7 50.7
L Hamilton 87 155 255 34.1 60.8
S Vettel 53 120 245 21.6 49.0
A Prost 51 106 199 25.6 53.3
