Ehm, no. They are most definitely not of the same level as Audi and BMW. Thats a different discussion though.

Of course they are not on the same level. I meant it ironic because I get tired of this "Chevrolet Europe = Daewoo" discussion. Nothing wrong with "Asian/European" Chevrolet cars. Are the Porsche Boxster/Cayman not real Porsches because they are built by Valmet in Finland?

OK lets go ontopic.

No Tielemans/Wiechers this round (and probably no Tielemans rest of the season). Last years sponsor (Easy Life) of Tielemans is accused of fraud and a few people are put in jail. His current sponsor has close links to Easy Life.

Rydell takes the pole, in front of Yvan Muller. Great jobs of the heavy Muller and Huff (4th). A bad day for the Dutchies though, Coronel 19th, van Lagen 24th and Tielemans out of money.

Interesting race, some nice fights. Stupid move of Menu, I was surprised that a man with his experience made such a move which you'd normally expect from Farfus. Luckily he only had himself with it, and not Thompson. Thompson did what he had to do with that light car, does anybody know if they had the Mugen engine already this weekend or is that from next weekend?

Well, looks like a race in the pocket for Thompson, with the friendly regards of the FIA Bureau of Diplomacy.

That Honda had a pretty bit of pace in it, even without the tow.

So Honda, what are you waiting for...

I thought Tommo was Mugan powered but he drove superb in both races and deserved the win, race 1 clash with Menu was unnecessary and Alain should not have thought about closing the door when he was half way down.

Any curcuit with long straights Tommo will be quick and now proberbly follow the form of the Alfa last year.

Brilliant work by Thommo! Loved seeing the Accord work its magic but then I am biased, I've met Thommo at the old Honda Sport factory when they ran super touring Accords in the late 90's, I also run an Accord myself.

Roll on Monza, similar style to Imola so the Accord should remain quick.

By the way it was JAS backed yesterday, the M-Tec Mugen engine arrives for Monza.

No one mentioned the rather excellent job the track builders have done...?

For once, a track change for the better!

However, I believe that when Imola was first built, the cars were actually flat out from the 2nd Rivattza all the way down to the old Tosa hairpin. So, the track has undergone a bit of "regression".

I always said that they should just re-profile tamburello, and make the Villenuve kink into more of a passing place, or straighten out the villeneuve kink, and send it further right to make it less severe, so that its more like the 1994 track.

Still, a good change for once, overall.

Not as I can recall.

GREAT to see Tommo and Honda performing as they should. All it needed was the right track, but perhaps most importantly, some cash in the bank account from their new driver(?)
With another win win at Monza this year Tommo could seriously be back fighting for a top 3 place in the championships in Macau.
