I suspect the first run and the re-run re-run. It's only half an hour, and that incident could easily take up the whole programme! Anyway it would be too confusing for the general viewer (and probably some fans as well!). Hopefully the Super Nationals will be shown, the best final of the day. |

Saw it this morn, great ad for the sport. Bellerbys race was Super.
The big boys were well impressed with the organisers, best run event of the year |

Daves a real hero in my book. Driver of the year................ Sorry but the organisers do not have any say ! As for drivers, we were complaining about the decision by powers above not RPL! As for best run event ,it ran very well both days with so many cars Last edited by chris cake; 11 Nov 2006 at 13:20. |

do a bit of fortune telling! At least the three seconds of stock hatch was ours !!! The clips of DB winning were exellent though even more exciting on tv when you can see it closer TOP MAN. As for the semi .Everthing in triplicate ,reminds me of my vat & tax returns Far too compicated and always end up with someone being shafted!! |

Got to say when I watched it it was a good programme BUT the race which was stopped didnt seem to be Evans fault apart from him being stranded but to allow a re run which Ollie did well then have another seemed a bit dodgy to me, It did mention that it was the COC Chris Gibson's decision but to me it should of never ran as the drivers said the lights went out and they raced and the flag dropped so why hold another race.
Only Mr Gibson knows the REAL answer to why he allowed something so daft to re-re run |

Well what can i say, the questions i asked about the re-run/re-run which someone at the DDMC even tried to deny happened are being asked again, i doubt we will ever get an answer. Its unfair to blame the RSS guys as they leave the running of the meeting in the hands of the COC.Is it down to them if the same guy gets to do it again at one of their meetings? Mind you I also note there is no mention of the re-run that never was on the Superprix website meeting review so we wont get any answers there.
ALL that aside the TV coverage was superb, Daves car control was amazing and you could tell how much it meant to him from the post race interview.I thought SKY did a great job with the time available, really we needed at least an hours programme to get everything that happened that weekend. |

My reason for asking was that I saw the race when Evans went out but missed the re-re run due to servicing on the day and having a look about the stalls.
It just seemed so strange to run another race "Just for Evans" why else would they do that? I felt sorry for Ollie and others having to bring their cars out again |

Rules to suit - again
Disappointed to see that yet again when a 'big gun' doesn't get the result they want the rules move! Couldn't beleive I was cheering for Kenneth to beat Chris!! Dave B deserves every acolade possible, brilliant driving The guy was a master to race against and still hasn't lost the magic -just gained more!! Well done for great TV coverage too, I was on the edge of my seat.

Ok time to get this off my chest. As we all know money talks but so does television. Was it just the coc who made this decision? As has been said before go to the superprix website and see if there is any mention of the first re-run. For most rallycross is a sport but for a few it is a business or a potential business, and like many business people they will do whatever it takes to make a business successful or appear as a good investment. And lastly look again at the div1 final and particually the last corner of the last lap and then think for a minute...

Not sure about all that JCT though it did all seem rather convenient that evans lost the lead on the last corner but that is just an opinion, and a slow puncture apparently the cause, well a bloody slow one i say!
Mr Gibson do you now admit there were 2 re-runs to semi 1 and do you have any facts for us as to why the whole debacle happened? Please give us the answers!!! |

Time to move on!
Time to move on here,I think this is a fruitless discussion. The COC made some amateur decisions on the day and this has proved the lasting memory of what otherwise was an enjoyable event. Somebody new at the helme next year perhaps?

From the majority of posts it was a great weekend. Let's leave it at that and discuss any conspiracy theories over a beer.
Well done all. Thread closed. |
