That's the Turbo engine, Nissan 350Z from RJN Motorsport used the normal basis engine so dont be comparebel with that VQ35DET. But yeah i think it could be Audi engine(after reading that article), and most off all (like the most people) it will be the new Jag XK engine. |

Lawrence Pearce building a Lister from a Nissan? I don't quite see that happen to be honest, I'm sharing the peoples view/hope on a Jaguar rebuild. Would be a good plan from lots of points of view.

A moment a thought it would maybe a GT1 based on the new Lotus Esprit. The British manufacturer will launch a new Esprit in 2007. Since a few years Lotus is using Toyota engines in the small Exige/Elise. But now I read Lotus will put a BMW engine in the Esprit.

Don't forget Lister has to build a production run of at least 50 cars.
At this moment they are nowere near capable enough for producing this. The best change would be tunend up Jag XK. That's a lot less work than a whole new car. And it has the biggest marketing value. A NEW LISTER JAGUAR. Like Brabus for Mercedes lister could have the potential of making money out of the Jaguar brand. |

What I don't get is the Motors TV broadcast stated a tub was built, indicating a purpose built (carbon?) car, yet indications are the Lister will be based on a current road car.
Unless the tub is for the Storm LMP1? |

this might be very leftfield, but why have neither BMW or Mercedes been mentioned? it would be a good opportunity for either, like the F1 GTR or CLK?
or. the engine from the Porsche Cayenne Turbo? it is 4.5 litres, but its supposed to be stupidly good- and powerful? BMW do a 4000cc engine in their 5 series, believe its a v8? that could be turbo'ed but, let's be honest, it could be anything. I still think there's a good chance they'll go deutschland though. |

actually getting back to the Ford V6's in the noble's. in the NOPI drag racing series in America there was a mercury couger running with that same V6 making 1300 hp on the stock block. ford is also introducing a bigger version of it's current duratec 3 liter called the duratec 35 which is 3.5 liters. and teh 3.5 can be stroked to 4 liters easily the reports on this new engine say. strap those two garret ball bearing turbos on and u have 600 hp reliably. so i could see lister using this engine effectively.

I notice DSC are quoting Lister as saying they have "bought" a new LMP1 chassis for 2007, the only details being that it won't run their current V8.

It also says that the current chassis could be for sale "or Laurence might re-cycle some of its components" and that the identity of the new chassis they've bought "will be a surprise"
This gets more confusing by the week-we've now got a surprise new LMP1, maybe some parts of the current car being recycled- (but for what? ), as well as the mystery GT1- what on earth are they up to? Maybe it's all an elaborate hoax to hide their real plans- maybe they've got hold of a customer R10 Last edited by KA; 20 Sep 2006 at 16:05. |

Great news, at last the team can get back racing, rather than going own a blind alley with the old P1. As for recycling parts, can only be for the GT1, which to be honest sounds like a fair way off, or some kind of trackday/Britcar thing, who knows, lol. As for the suprising choce of P1 chassis, who is there, Riley, Epsillon, Pescarolo? A Courage, Lola or Zytek wouldn't suprise anyone. Last edited by JAG; 20 Sep 2006 at 16:08. |

Perhaps a KWM chassis branded as a Lister?

The choice of word 'invested' could suggest a joint venture: Pescarolo, Kruse and Lister. Pesca and Kruse need new tubs and crashboxes. Lister need a car (which could be combination of Pesca and Lister).
It all sound promising and the sharing of development costs could ease the burden considerably. |

I just got an email from Fiona at Lister Cars and it says that there have been changes to the GT1 project and it's not expected for 2007 anymore.
Even though I would have liked a GT effort more, that probably means that they will now at least fully concentrate on the LMP1 effort. |
