There is only one "Le Mans" movie from Steve McQ, this is just a passtime with no other aspirations..... you guys take it too serious!

I was glad I saw a glimp of the Orange Spyker, but the movie could be filmed in any race. Thank God we have Steve's movie.

This film was great.

Steve McQueens Le Mans was great.

They are two totally different films. Always were always will be.

Bringing this thread back from the dead to add....

I was in Tesco last night and in their bargain DVD section I found a children's cartoon called "Michael Valliant" about a motor racer who battles against the evil Leader team. Sounds familiar doesn't it

Best of all it was only £1.

I picked up a Thai import of the recentish film a couple of years ago, and I genuinely like it. Yes it's enormously silly but somehow I find it in keeping with the spirit of the comics, some of which are quite silly too. Overall it's got a sense of fun to it, it's quite nicely shot, and as pleasant a way as any to while away an evening.

One query - is the Vaillant test track where Julie Wood gets her test run a real track - and if so which one?

I haven't seen the children's cartoon but recently found the 1960s TV series on DVD in a local store - now it's good. Admittedly it's a bit dated, and some of the plots are pretty far fetched, but there's superb footage (including quite a few shots of Howmets, which must be reasonably rare), a soundtrack that captures the spirit of the period, and all in all an entertaining experience. Worth tracking down, even by the non French speakers among us (no subtitles I'm afraid...)

The test track is Mas du Clos in Central massif France. An amazing track to drive on (trackday by pistenclub.de in august) did with a westfield wow!
Great museum and surroundings. Rumours has it that the track will be closed so take your chance now!
