Wouldn’t surprise me if it was Tonks as didn’t he win at OP last year so would make sense to come back

23 TCRs this weekend at Oulton Park



Looks like a few additions - George Heler (Paul Sheard Audi) and Jonathon Beeson (Paul Sheard VW) and the already announced Luke Sargeant (Area Elantra)

Steve Gales is now listed in a CUPRA Leon Competicion (I wonder if this is an ex-Chameleon Motorsport car?) Return of Rick Kerry. Adam Shepherd and Bruce Winfield are entered so hopefully both have found some sponsors.

The new chassis being the one that Smiley is using from now on.

From my understanding the car they have been using in the opening rounds was not actually theirs, rather it was the JAS Development chassis. The first one built

I believe the Chassis that Smiley has been using so far was also used by another team in the opening round of TCR italy by another team

The first couple of events the FL5 took part were the same chassis while the they waited for their own chassis to arrive

That’s what I saw, assumed it was a second one but that would explain why Sumpton’s still in the old one this weekend then!

Thanks for that. I regretted writing ex-Chameleon as about 5mins later I remembered the Jaxon car had been up for sale. Will Brad Hutchison switch to a CUPRA Leon Competicion at some point? The Gen 1 Audi RS 3 LMS isn't as competitive as some of the newer models.

Add in Sumpton not starting the races and it was a Honda FK7 and FL5 disaster.

Just watched the races after Le Mans, I was surprised at Boardley being so calm about being stung again in R1!
It's becoming intriguing though. Before today I was adamant that there were at most eight drivers who could win races. I'll revise that to race one.
Given the right (cooler?) conditions some of the slower old cars could still crack on in a reverse grid race - but not Silverstone - I reckon that's the place where someone could clean sweep.

Definitely. Not doing BTCC there this year because of Super Tourers at Croft, but I'm hoping for a bit of a smaller crowd so I can get to the front!

Only 17 cars at Knockhill. I wonder if that's a reflection of finances - like across much of motor racing right now, or just the good old club racing 'Knockhill is a long drive' thing.

Notable absences being Gales (is his car damage a bit more draining than first thought) and Lewis (who has had his car up for sale for a while.) Also Dan Kirby after missing Oulton with 'family problems.)

Probably a bit of both. But shame a few top names won’t be there. Let’s hope they are back ASAP
