I think it was "mate", it would be more logical if Jos calles Michael a tomato!

Actually the journalist mentioned that Jos gets red when he drives and Schumi jokingly said he calls Jos "My tomato". Please go back and watch it again, I am sure he called him that. And then they had a laugh about it I guess!
