PTRACER should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
How long should 8856-2000 and SA2005 last?

I'm soon going to be buying my race equipment for the coming season, I would just like to know how long my 8856-2000 racewear and SA2005 helmet should last?

Racewear norm should last for another fair bit of time, as they are near perfect. FIA can't find much to add at the moment.
Snell 2005 should last untill 2010 + 3 years for items in the shops and to protect customers who bought new gear, but than again anything can change here rapidly.

I was going to start a similar thread today myself as someone I know wants to buy a new helmet next week. I would think the Snell rating will last 10 years as there is a note in the Blue book stating Snell 2000 may be withdrawn from 01/01/2010 and Snell 1995 was withdrawn in 2005.

8856-1986 is no good for FIA meetings or use in Europe and will be withdrawn for UK national meetings next January so I would think 8856-2000 will be good for a good few years yet as AFAIK there is no other standard to superceed it at the moment.

So technically, 8856-2000 could be used in National Meetings for another 14 or 15 years?
