Jeff Gordon makes history as he claims pole position for the first CoT race.

Jeremy Mayfield looks like he will finally make his first start of the year. Still waiting on confirmation on who will miss the race, but as far as I can tell A.J. Allmendinger just missed getting into the show.

EDIT - Hold that, according to Jayski it looks like Allmendinger made it in by the skin of his teeth! Still waiting on official confirmation, however.

I tend to have at least a couple of cans in the fridge at all times

I've moved away from mixing it with alcohol tho - had a bit too much of that when I was younger I'm afraid, so these days I'm not a fan of that particular combination

Sure looks like Craftsman Trucks when seeing them from the front. If they race half as good as the trucks do on average, this will be a great race

I predict the first caution will come around lap 5.

I was reading an article this afternoon about the new car and the changes on the pitstop scenario. One of the things that was mentioned was the front splitter and what would happen if a crew member was hit by it... doesn't bear thinking about
