JCO was 3rd and 4th at Adelaide last years, dont read too much into a track where the team and the driver have traditionally done well

Loving the Penske/T8 banter has begun already.

From the overhead I can't see how there can be an advantage gained from what he did, was so far down the straight. Guess it'll come down to how clear the they were in the briefing about how far after the corner the yellow line counts.

New rule, seems a weird one, why would they even have a yellow line there, what does it achieve?

The wall in relation to the line there, and vice versa, doesn't make a whole lot of sense anyway.

Why is the wall straighter than the line?

Exactly. Why bother even having a line around the back of the track? The concrete wall is the pretty obvious "track limit" at that section of the track.

What a way to start the season, with Race Control umming and arring over pole at the very first race. Presentation has been done, check handed over, yet result still in question? How professional does this look?? About as professional as the under 9's 3rd grade ( choose your sport ) on a Saturday morning. Going to be a long season.............

He did, but Mr Waters isn’t the reigning 7 time series champion either...

Tickford also chose not to fix Mr Randle’s car...

wow, could determine scott and craig in half a lap, but cant determine if a yellow line determines the track edge

has to be a badly written rule

Why has this never been an issue in 20 years

They just released a complete revision of the rules, so shouldn't be any problems with what is written.

I doubt it's something in the standard regs, it's likely part of supplementary regs they hand out at driver/manager briefings which are usually vague at best to begin with. So it could be one of those annoying interpretation decisions.

Mike jacobson quoting cams rule 7,4. no doubt that svg left the track and is guilty.

Real question is why not put the yellow line along the wall

Funny thing is I rewound & watched Scotty's lap & he was equally as far over the yellow line the corner before (6)... so is it only this corner that the yellow line applies??

So one of those really fun "it counts here and here but not there, we don't know about there but as long as you're 34 degrees to the line should be fine" situations.

There seemed to be an inference in the SVG sound grab with Riana, that the matter was discussed earlier (drivers briefing?), so there might be arguments to support him having used that piece of track...

was DJRTP the origin point of the enquiry? They seem to be copping a fair degree of online griefe on the basis of Ryan Story's comments to camera...
