Speed should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Williams' Monaco Fuel Strategy

Does anybody know how different were Montoya/Ralf fuel strategies ?

Or they used similar strategies ?

If they used the same strategy, all I have to say is... poor Ralf.

Think they had similar strategies, with Ralf coming in a lap or two earlier than JPM. Think Ralf had some sort of problem in the second stint, which dropped him back, though am not sure what.

JPM reckoned that Ralf couldn't get happy with his tyre pressures - he liked them for one lap, but found it much harder going once the tyres were warm. Personally I see Ralf as one of those drivers, a bit like DC, who just can't give very much if the car isn't just how he likes it - especially with regard to excess (any) oversteer.

Fuel strategy was the same, (take a look at laps 24-25 their first stop) What happened after Montoya got out from pits ahead, just don't know... then Kimi got out ahead of Ralf too... Race was lost.
The spun... grand finale...

Ralf struggled on his second set of tyres - it could have been the tyre pressure or it might just have been a bad set, because he was much better in the final stint. He set his fastest lap of the race (3rd fastest overall) on lap 77.

I wondered actually whether Ralf hit a barrier at some point because JPM reeled in quite a big lead from Ralf just before their first stop and then that pace continued into the second stint.

Well I picked the winning fuels strategy before the race. 2 stops with an early 1st stint.

Monty made all the difference with the lap(s) between Ralfs and his stop. A blinder. It's also obvious RS had problems in the second stint.

This is the difference between these 2. Monty is much better at driving around a problem thatn Ralf, but Ralf is more likely to have the car setup properly to begin with.

Only MS can do both

Yes, but it also helps to have pet techs from your benetton days follow you too...
