Drivers' 'tabards'?
Today at Monza, several drivers - Button, Petrov for two, Weber, Massa not - were wearing tabard-like garments over their flameproof underwear, under the race suit. They appeared to have insert panels on the back, a large one across the chest, and three small ones across the lumbar region.
Are these protective? Are the inserts ballistic, like a bullet proof jacket? Or are they for cooling, or some other purpose? John |

I think it is cooling, it was hot there today.
Massa prefered to just throw water down his top when Rob told him too. |
