Looking forward to this weekend's meeting at Thruxton courtesy of the CSCC . Anyone know of an entry list yet ? (Especially is Baby Bertha racing this weekend)

The good news is the CSCC have over 50 entries for the Swinging Sixties race. The bad news is that that race is at Brands and not Thruxton this weekend.

The entry list is up on the CSCC Facebook page and is showing 15 cars entered in the special saloons/modsports but Baby Bertha isn't on the entry list.

Thanks for pointing us the right direction Poynter 97 . Some good looking fields but a shame there's no Swinging Sixties and apparently no Baby Bertha .

Should be a good meeting, 2 races for the mod sports/saloons on Sunday. Some incredible machinery out there fielded by real enthusiasts, I'll be heading down to the complex for an entertaining day.

Thruxton 19th August

I will be there on Sunday. It will be good to see the old WRA Anglia on display again. Gerry Taylor.

Few shot's from the clubs return to Thruxton, very fast circuit but not many photo friendly areas. Feel free to comment / critique as you wish - promise not to sob too loudly ;-)

Beast mode activated!

Coming at ya ;-)

Ludicrously quick Beemer

Flame on!

Original DAF V8 - one of the first cars to break no smash the 100mph lap record at Thruxton, alas had a dodgy clutch so it was decide not to race it this weekend.

What a broken ARB connection thread and a new more powerful engine gives you - Porsche tricycle power ;-)

Another terrific weekends racing, and yep - took waaaaay too many shots just for a change.

Such a shame neither made it onto the track. Awesome to see them though

Some great photos there David - especially the IROC Porsche wheel-waving at the chicane ! Nice to see the Ian Stapleton Alfa as it sadly succumbed to qualifying woes . Where did you take the photo of Richard Hayes'Toyota Celica GT4 ? Can't think of anywhere on the inside of the circuit where you could take a photo like that .

I wouldn't necessarily agree about Thruxton not being great for taking pictures - not very photogenic maybe but not too much high fencing and in places you can get quite close to the circuit . Admittedly it is a shame spectators can't get anywhere near the most spectacular part of the circuit out the back but there are other places that do provide plenty of action and overtaking . Wonder if and when spectators will be allowed to use the banking that now runs alongside Woodham Hill ?

My first trip , doing some stuff for CSCC , and bloody hell what a fast circuit...Loved it , and it reminded me of old Silverstone and that forgotten York track, Rufforth , in that so much of track is inaccessible . I was lucky enough to betaken round by CoC on Sunday morning and, wow , how I'd love to watch something like aT70 in the scarily quick bits.

Mike Donovan was thundering round in a Lola T70 at the 50th Anniversary Meeting but 25 years earlier at the Silver Jubilee meeting no fewer than seven T70s took on David Piper's Porsche 917K , a 906 and 910 of the same make , Ferrari 330 GTO , 275 LM , 330 P2 , 365 P1 , a Ford P68 , a Lotus 40 , a Willment BRM , a pair of AC Cobras and last but not least the winning 5 litre V8 powered Matra MS650 of Mike Knight in the International Sports Prototype race . An amazing sight and sound especially when they came past the Grandstands on their way to the rolling start .

According to Autosport Bill Coombs is looking to make a historic meeting an annual feature of Thruxton's fixtures . With a bit of luck maybe the FIA Masters Sportscars could be persuaded to visit .

Thank you! the Celica shot was taken directly opposite the bank in front of the control tower - if I had panned a little more to my right you would have seen the main gate entry as you can just see in this one

As for the not great comment - you are correct, sorry I didn't word that very well, and I agree it's a shame we cant have more access to the faster part of the circuit. Still a terrific / original 'grass roots circuit'
