Richard Kent will partner Conor Daly under the Andersen Racing tent. It will be interesting to see if Kent can carry his momentum from the series finale at Laguna Seca into the 2009 season.

Anders Krohn signed with Mundill Racing earlier today. It's nice to see Anders back, I know that funding was an issue for him this year; so it's great to see him find a seat.
I fully expect him to be a front runner in 2009. |

2009 Star Mazda Silly Season
Bob Jenkins was the first of the new Versus broadcast team to be confirmed for the 2009 season. (Versus will air 12 of the 17 races being run) On Wednesday, the rest of his teammates were announced. First, joining Jenkins in the booth is accomplished open wheel driver and motorsports reporter Jon Beekhuis, wing weeks of speculation in the media, and Roger Penske's continuous public decries of support till the bitter end for the driver who has brought him two Indy 500 wins since joining the team in 2001, Penske Racing has confirmed that they have enlisted Will Power to step in and replace Helio Castroneves at Team Penske while the affable Brazilian prepares to face charges of tax evasion.

Deniz Navarro, of Brazilian F3, completed his first test in a Star Mazda car this week with Andersen Racing. If he can put together the necessary funding, I feel he will be quite quick in 2009. Stay tuned.

Last years champions, AIM Autosport, announced their 2009 roster: Jorge Goncalvez and David Ostella. Both drivers spent last season in the Formula BMW-Americas series.
It will be interesting to see how these two perform with the guidance of a top team. |
