Masters next attempt at levelling the playing field

Masters 2020 regulations for Gentleman Drivers and Pre ‘66 Touring cars adds a few interesting additions- This is from GD, and I assume TC the same......

Engine capacity certificate. Engine to be measured by an MSA Scrutineer and sealed. Not compulsory in 2020, but MRL adopted the same approach- voluntary first year only....

MSD 6AL Ignition Control Unit now required on 250GTO and Triumph TR engines, as well as those already required to fit them.

Success Penalty (for class win) in the form of a longer compulsory pit stop in the next race. Keep winning and it keeps getting longer!

Only data logging allowed is GPS / camera / timing recorder. No sensors monitoring engine, brake pressures etc.....

You forgot the 75 second pit stop rule for cars over 5000 cc. I somehow don’t think that will worry us to much in the Galaxie .

Sorry! It’s actually 75 secs for cars over 4000cc, and only in GD, not in touring cars. Presume the Galaxie is a still a saloon! So all the big GT cars, basically....

Good to see organisers taking steps to control
Engine sealing is a good thing as long as the engines are the correct spec
Not just volume but valves and so on
I’m sure Masters will be on top of it
Unlike some series who say it has to be sealed with little regard to legality
