I know i am, i just hope things all don't fall through at the last minute, whic tends to happen with the BTCC.
I can recall in late 99' there was a rumour going round that the Alfa 156's raced in Italy would come over here for the last 4 rounds, but never did. |

Yep - should be good to see them. However, remember, the cars are being entered by privateers so, as long as they can raise the money (which i'm sure they already have seeing as they're actually building the cars already) then they should appear - without the politics of being the works Alfa team.

It would have been great to see the Alfa Supertourers. I don't know what happened to their plans to come to Britain. I guess it was the title which they worried more about, they didn't seal it yet. It doesn't matter, We've seen the 156's in Production form in the BTCC last year, and I can't wait for the 147 to race.

The Selenia 156 is one of 2 ST car's that a wish I could have seen racing - the other is the Abt (Hasseroder) Audi A4. Saw the 156 at a static display at the Autosport show a few years back, but that's just not the same. Will finally get a chance to see it in anger this year at Silverstone (Euro TC).

The BTCC was a backup in case the Italian ST series folded. But when it did, thankfully, the Euro ST series appeared out of the rubbles!! And so the 156s stayed in Europe and not the BTCC! I think the Euro ST is an awesome idea personally. Too bad they can't make an exhibition appearance over here in Vancouver, BC, Canada (my hometown!!!) |
