The359 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
The B05/40 is still the basic structure for the B06/43 (Fernandez's Acura) and B07/46 (B-K's Mazda). As the email indicates, the change in numbers is just due to the fact that these were chassis built in 2006 and 2007. They are still B05/40's basic chassis design with minor bodywork upgrades.

The same applies to the B06/10 and the B07/17 and B07/18.

But if a A B06/40 or B07/40 are invalid as model #'s why is the original B05/40 designation valid when the same criteria was used in its original model designation???? Why is it not a HU/40??

While I understand what you are saying I would disagree. Where the confusion seems to lie is with the HU-XX designation of the tub. The same exact tub may be used through several different models; example 05/, 06/, 07/ and even across class; example /10 or /40. The tub is not the designator for the car model, the year it is assembled and class it will run is. Another example of this would be that you could have two cars of the same model (B06/10 example) with two different types of tub if they were built during the same year. This is Lola's model designation numeration explanation not mine. Are they wrong?

B06/40s and B07/40s are identical to B05/40s, just built in later years. It is actually against the grain I believe for identical chassis built in different years to have a continuing HU# sequence. I do not understand why you're attempting to claim "B05/40" is an invalid name. B06/40 is the Fernandez car's name, yes, but it is still a B05/40.

Take for instance the Corvette GTPs: Corvette GTPs, all pretty much identical in design, were built under the designations T710, T86/10, T87/10, and T88/10. They were simply chassis built over multiple years.

I should also point out that Corvette GTPs repeat HU chassis numbers: T710 HU01 and 02, T86/10 HU01, 02, 03, T87/10 HU01, and T88/10 HU01.

I haven;t checked whether there is another F430 thread, but on top of the cars participating during the 2007 24 hours there are the following ones in the LMS Series

2402 (GPC#83)
2412 (Villorba)
2450 (JMB)
2452 (Gordon/Gulf)
2454 (GPC#97)

It appears that Ferrari has reinstated its policy to give even numbers to racing cars, so don't look for odd ones.

For those who are in the paddock, the big chassis numbers or underneath the right hand seat (but as there is none, they are easy to spot)

Another update: Pescarolo #005 can be updated/deleted, the Kruse car burnt to the ground...

Are you sure that Audi #1 of Barcelona is chassis 301?
Chassis 301 would be a 2008 built car. Do they really race these already?

10. = 2006
20. = 2007
30. = 2008

According to the LMS site, Audi #1 is chassis 301 (built in 2007) and Audi #2 is chassis 204 (Built in 2005).

I don’t understand these numbers. In 2006 they used 10. numbers in Le Mans. 2007 the new chassis were called 20. How can a 2005 chassis be 204 an 301 a 2007 car?

If they really raced a new car in Barcelona, Audi has a huge problem. The new car is much slower than the Peugeots.

I think that what is on the LMS site is wrong, chassis 204 was made in 2007 for McNish and Capello, and they decided to use the same car for the LMS. 301 is a new 2008 chassis for Rockenfeller and Premat.

There are some inconsistencies here, regarding Porsche #75 and #95, which have the same number, I think the Watt car is entitled to the 932 number but the 75 (a 2008 spec car) is something else

I have the same problem with the number 91, which according to your list has the same number as the #90 from last year. Yet the current 91 is a 2008 spec car.

Furthermore the LeMans 2008 programmes lists the 76 porsche as chassis 930. (2008 spec)

In LMS 75 IMSA is Z8S799932 and 95 JWA is Z7S799932 as listed by ThePenguin. Looks like IMSA got a new(er) car for Le Mans.

ah, that would explain it, I thought they would change the 7 (as in 799) to indicate the next year of built. anyway, the numbers are easily visible so next time (Silverstone) I'll have a closer look

They've never done that. 69 for the 996 models, 79 for the 997 models. And if I am correct it is ZxS7999xx for GT3 RSR and ZxS798xx for the 997 GT3 Cup cars.

No Porsches at the Monterey Historic Automobile Races and Pebble Beach?
