Ford fans have the agenda - need to get over the fact that DJR will never again be like they were under DJRTP.

It's done, they are cooked.

Need to hope that WAU or Grove can lead Ford out from under DJR's incompetence, but now they have car and engine under their roof.

For Ford fans in denial about Herrod's role in Ford's engine issues, read Rod Nash's words:

That's neither here nor there, the idea wasn't to build a more powerful engine as it would just be slowed down in the parity process, supercars processes were antiquated and in spite of all the graphs saying that the engines were equal there was a clear difference, now they are telling DJR to tone the new engine down as it's too good.......damned if you do and damned if you don't.

BMW would prefer production based regulations for the ATCC:

Quote:
...you always come past the V8 Supercars and your championship in Australia because, at the end, it's a fascinating championship.

...the GT3 car which is still based on the on the road car... What is nice with the GT4, GT3 car, it's a car you develop once and you can run worldwide all over the world.
- Andreas Roos, Head of BMW M Motorsport
https://speedcafe.com/bmw-always-monitoring-supercars/

The ATCC is certainly lacking the production-based synergy that allowed Frank Gardner Racing and LoGaMo to run 635csi and M3 models.

Interestingly, Ford Performance already has a production-based GT3 Mustang...

Repair concerns around production bodyshells compared to spaceframe silhouette cars are overblown IMO.

With Ford Performance IP obviously under continual critical review for value-for-money and ROI, ATCC organisers will be pressed to maintain two manufacturers under Gen 3 let alone find more!

Perhaps BOP could be used between Gen 3 cars and front engine GT3 cars, much as LMH and LMDh cars have BOP?
