Who says the Mustang has an advantage!? More likely DJRTP and Tickford are two of the finest operators, and are doing a great job.

Have Tickford and Triple Eight a reserve driver each for #6 and #888 if Mr. Waters and Mr. Whincup get a race ban following their NZ controversy?

I'd imagine that in the unlikely event either are suspended, it'll go to appeal which would be dragged out until after Bathurst. Deals have been done in the past to ensure drivers facing possible suspension race at Bathurst.

Brock didn't set the world on fire out Australia either did he. people get carried away sometimes. Scott maybe a great one day, but he isn't yet.
You're on a roll with your driver bashing here, champ.

Lowndes was promised the earth, but TW merely opened up a few doors for him. Like for any Aussie trying to break into the European scene, money was the underlying issue for Lowndes.
The fact he could simply jump into a McLaren F1 car and run within a second of Button around Bathurst showed he's always been extremely capable.

Brock never sought an overseas career - he instead preferred to compete in his own country, in his preferred category. On his few forays abroad, he did pretty well, all things considered.

As for Scotty, he's currently a class above, and has been for some time. Whether he truly wants to move to international competition is yet to be determined; however there is nothing to suggest he wouldn't be highly competitive in an international series.
And getting back on topic, adding a Bathurst victory to his resume seems to his current priority, with a 'win-it or bin-it' attitude:

Every single person I know in Supercars is saying that, including staff within one of the very organisations you mention. In fact they are doing such a good job and running such a fine operation that they can't even pay most of their staff or drivers. Hence the exodus. The Mustang advantage is the only thing saving them forgoing under...

Seems to me Scotty and the DJRTP mob have been going like mad to get a good points lead before Bathurst.

So they can go flat out all day and not worry about the Championship.

Will make for an entertaining race I believe.

Infact it will probably show us what a race that is NOT part of the Championship might look like.......

On raw pace you would think Scotty has it won but this is Bathurst. Dominant drivers have failed there before and pure pace, potentially in a somewhat untested car, may not be the deciding factor.

Gonna be real hard to beat the pace and experience of the 888 dream team.

SVG and Tander look damn good.

Agree with that - mind you, the 888 dream team DOES have the risk of another brain explosion from the regular driver, maybe having CL sharing the drive again might be a calming influence but Mr Whincup does seem to completely lose control of himself at times doesn't he?

I get the feeling Scotty might be a bit of a Marcos at Bathurst. And that lineup at Triple 8...wowee it's strong. Maybe the strongest two car lineup in history?

I for one will never forget Bo's tears when the engine let go from the lead very late in the race.
