Mallory 13th May - Shame about the weather

Has everyone dried out now?

My thanks to everyone in the Assembly Area (Pitlane Eddie, Steve Spurr, Denis Jones, Mike and Joe) who worked so hard in the appalling conditions.

Also, what a lovely gesture of donuts for all from the Classic Car Drivers - thanks guys, it's great to be appreciated!

Pitlane Eddie will no doubt add her own little bit relating to naughty jelly babies once she gets home!

Thanks from Your Chief Marshal

Just like to add my thanks to all the Officials, Marshals & Sheila for doing such a good job in such appalling conditions. Hope everyone enjoyed the racing if not the weather and has not been put off.

See you all soon.

Thanks Again,

Fred

A good day, despite the weather's best attempts to spoil it!

Good to meet a few ten-tenthers for the first time: Race Gipsy, JohnW & Dennis Bassom.

The nosebags from the drivers were much appreciated; let's hope it's the start of a trend! Thanks to the drivers for managing to provide some entertaining racing in lousy conditions.

......and thanks to Fred for putting me on post 1 - we were facing away from the rain!

(cue smug comments about how dry it was in the fire cars/medical car/rescue unit/race control, etc!)

Good to meet you at last Dave Brand, and also Mike M(? ) on the rescue vehicle.
I arrived home last night (4 hours) with still be able to wring my socks out!
Trust that the Ferrari driver is as well as I heard.

Took me ages too, 14 minutes as the roads were a bit slippy to the local Chinese, then another 3 to get home. Normally only takes 12 minutes! Oh, had to wait ten minutes in the Chinese as someone went and phoned their order in, darn it.

Amazingly I didn't fall asleep in my food while watching the GP, it was almost entertaining this time, what with fires and footballing mechanics (one using feet, other pretending to be a goal keeper and dove after his fleeing car). Not much in the way of overtaking again though

Very enjoyable days racing - a bit of water didn't spoil the day too much. Good day on 7 - I too hope our hapless Ferrari driver is ok. Donuts were much appreciated - as much for being unexpected as very tasty.

I won't embarrass Race Gypsy on this forum by saying how he directed 2 of us to the wrong post 7, where we sat wondering where the rest of the crew were!

Not dry yet, but had a good day with some entertaining racing and entertaining company. Had to flag from outside the hut at post 5 because once our observer got in there was very little room left for anybody else, still Brice'y got just as wet as us and i did get a pint off him afterwards.

What donuts? I seem to have been missed off the delivery list but a nice gesture by the drivers - thank you.

Fred thanx for a nice dry day and Happy Birthday for next Tuesday.

Suspicions were raised with the knowledge that KayBee starved whilst others looked replete.
It's great the way you officials back each other up

I don't think we need worry about KayBee wasting away for the want of a doughnut!

Serves her right for being so smug about being in the fire car.....as my old granny used to say, 'you can't have the bun & the halfpenny' (not that I ever got a bun or a halfpenny off my old granny!).
