Cupra are (apparently) still developing their car for next year.

Audi is still being produced. Just no Evo model next year.

Worth noting that the VW was the poorer selling car of the 3.

First we had Hyundai
Then we had Lynk & Co
Now we have Toyota C-HR
What's next Rolls-Royce?

Oh wow, unusual but actually looks pretty good! I assume that's not a 'factory' Toyota effort 😂

Would love to see it race!

They should have been delivering cars in February to give the clients the time to work on it ahead of the season start!

Mechanically they're the same as the previous one.

It's a plug and play race car. You should be able to drop it on the track tomorrow and be competitive.

I don't think they are the same mechanically, different brand gearbox (Hewland, not been used before in TCR), racing electronics etc.

The old/current version is only competitive due to the BoP rules, I think much is changed on the new car.

As you say, new gearbox, a lightened and upgraded electronics system, as well as a more aerodynamically efficient bodykit, a lightened axle system, better weight distribution and a new 2.0l engine. The car has been strengthened and should be easier for part replacements too. I'm guessing these developments will go directly into their eTCR challenger.

given that the new eTCR car doesn't use a gearbox or a petrol engine, or have the same bodykit, or the same lightened axle system or the same weight distrubution - i'd say none of those developments would go over to the eTCR car!

Oops, that’s embarrassing... it does use an electronics system though!

You sure? They are definitely completely different looking cars and the 'TCR' looks to be Japan based.

Probably an independant project by a small company (like the Fiat Tipo or Kia) for national championships rather than anything to do with Toyota.
