I'm not knocking the sim as a sim - the little I have driven seems fantastic to me, and certainly a better experience than any of the F1C mods (I have to say), but I would certainly willing to go the extra mile to get it working, if only I knew which direction to go in....... I've tried everything that's referred to on the forum at RSC bit I'm still freezing up. Now if someone tells me that's just bugs in the demo and the real deal is exactly that, so be it - I'll go and buy it. I've never ever had trouble getting a game to work on any pc I've had like the trouble I've had with GTR......

Maybe it is because the track has been minutely detailed, but it was most corners that it did it and mostly under braking. It may just be that i drive that bad, and havent quite got the downchanges right which upsets the rears. I guess i'm after an easy game, anything that needs 1000's of hrs and to adjust my style to suit i dont have the time or patience for at the moment(gpl unfortunately).

Pogoing on the straights yeah had that at Monza Ferrari 360 Modena smooth as silk untill the first straight just before the bridge all over the place, after the bridge smooth as silk again.

The sim plays much better than the demo and when all the little bugs are ironed out it will the sim.
Apart from GPL of course

I dont have the problem under braking perhaps i am smoother i dont know, diffrent driving styles different problems maybe.
The simulation is the best mode Ayse, both semi pro and arcade are easier to drive the handling is easier.

I don't believe in ripping these guys off. They've obviously made a good sim and I just wanna run it. It irks me that all of a sudden, I'm stuffed with this one..... and I just don't know the answer....

Well obviously you are not ripping them off, you are just finding out if the game works or not on your computer. If it works you will buy the game, I can't see the bad thing in that...

The big freeze Mike. Occasionally I can get arcade to run on the demo, but mlost of the time I go into the menu(s) and it freezes almost immediately, literally within 4-5 seconds. I'm led to believe its mostly likely a graphics card issue, but I have a reasonable card (5900XT) and I have tried three different sets of drivers including the latest Omega drivers. No good. The worst thing is that when it freezes I can't get back to windows so I have to actually switch my pc off at the plug. I've done that several times now and I'm not doing it any more.......

Well decided to give the demo a go again last night(sorry Ayse!), with the Morgan. I'm not a fan of some of the extreme setups like one end being really stiff, the other really soft,but with a more even setup i'm doing a 2"31.4 but its not particularly smooth. Are the anti roll bars available in the real thing? as i feel using them would help.

I haven't. I suspected I'd get short shrift becasue it seems the preferred route for tech advice is the specific forum at RSC.

The weird thing is that I downloaded the rFactor demo last night and that froze in exactly the same way.

What screen resolutions are you setting in GTR and what refreshrates are you employing? (just as a matter of interest).

Spanner in the real game the antiroll bars are adjustable as are all the dampers etc just like GPL.

There are some parts of the tracks in the game that appear very bumpy the Ferrari s and Porsches
bounce like a yoyo, and thats with the standard set up sound like they may need stiffening.

Ayse you are not the only one with screen freeze mine did just that in an online race, but it does continue after a few seconds but it is off putting.
And it no every race just now and again i think it has something to do with too much scenery or fps, as it does it when passing the pit or being overtaken by another car.
And i dont know how to improve it

Hum, try using V-Sync Ayse (or disable it if it was on). You can also try using different refresh rates (if you've got a CRT, i suggest you strongly to use higher (85+) Hz ).

Well, I went today to Amazon.de to buy GTR, yet, they charged me 8 euros and something for something called MwSw (or something like this, which, of course, I have no idea whatsoever what it is). Yet, it should be a maximum of 5euros and something for the mail service to Portugal...

Can you explain this to me better JPMeisster?

Haven't fiddled with V-sync but I've tried every resolution and refresh rate going......

Aysedasi, have you overclocked your processor or graphics-card? Because that's causing problems for a lot of people.
