North American attendance numbers?

Does anyone have any attendance numbers for various series going back to the 60's in North America? I'm particularly interested in Can-Am, and especially particularly in Mosport. So far all I have is a raceday 60,000 for Mosport 1973 Can-Am.

Basically I'm trying to put the race weekend ALMS numbers in perspective, when discussing attendance with those who think that only in downtown or at a roundyround can you draw a North American crowd.
