Format change at Indy.................

There will be a format change at the Gold Coast event.

The Saturday race will be 140 km and on Sunday there will be 2 x 100 km races.

The last race will be after the champ car race in the afternoon.

........and Mr Cochran wants to have a street race at Homebush.

Thats a little disapointing from my opinion. The Champcars should be the last race of the day.

Anyways, the last move to hold a street race at Homebush by Don Panoz was shut down by environmental concerns regarding "the Green Bell Frog"(if memory serves correctly) So if Tony wants a street race there, I'm guessing he'll face some resistance.

keep dreaming, i work near the olympic site and drive through there almost daily. id like to know where this track is going to be. most of the roads are divided by big median strips, A track here would be narrower than canberra. also there is limited area to put grandstands. Not going to happen in the near future.

.

In the early 90s, the Indycar/CART/Champcar race was started at around midday on the sunday. It would be followed afterwards in the afternoon by the supporting NASCAR and AUSCAR races.

By running the V8s after, they must have moved the ChampCar race to an earlier time frame.

Will the pitlane be right this year

I can't see a V8 Homebush race until after Bob Carr goes, if then.

Admittedly it was a different government at the time, but i can see the NSW Government saying NSW has already paid for a motor racing circuit (Eastern Creek), why don't you go and use that.

Or conversely, NSW built Eastern Creek, and look what happened with that track over the years..........
